  • Hello, my father just had a rupture (Hernia inguinalis). He had a surgery. His surgery professor told him, that a rupture is almost natural for men. Over 70% of men have ruptures once in their life-time. Due to so called "predetermined breaking point" in their lower stomach and their testicles. Is this true? What do you think of this statement?

  • Hi, does this give you tone your core as well? THank YOu!

  • @plasticface23 Yes, This core strength and conditioning exercise will work all the muscles that surround your waist like a girdle. As these muscles get toned and stronger, your waist will cinch-in like a muscular belt and make your waist appear slimmer. Good Luck!

  • Holy House bud.

  • Pretty hard. Got through it okay though. little shaky towards the end, but that was fun.

  • I tried this and failed! lol Thanks for sharing this video...I will be testing my core from now on! Great work.

  • Holy crap I thought I was going to collapse! And I'm in top shape! I managed to make it all the way through but became very shaky.. Thanx for the workout:)

  • thanks man you got me motivated to get a great workout in

  • u make it look easy!!!! HOW???

  • lol...5....4....3.21. i love how he sped up. lol. you can tell its hard

  • What song is playing?

  • Party at Steve's house!!!

  • hello, i shake alot =( how does one improve?

  • @masterchad510 You shake alot because your core is unstable right now and you're having a hard time controlling the muscles. Keep practicing the exercise and you will see in a short time (1 month) you will be much more stable and strong without shaking. Good Luck.

  • Hi, great video; however, I have a question. I can do the first minute of planking, but as soon as I attempt to lift my arm, I tip over at the side where my arm has just lifted. This is clearly a balance issue, and the weight imbalance on the other arm causes me to tip over to the side. If I keep practising, will my stronger core muscles eventually withstand this weight imbalance, or is it also related to a lack of arm strength?

  • @Azz1883 Try spreading your legs wider before lifting your arm. This will give you a better base of support and balance so that you can complete this part of the exercise. Then, as your core and arms get stronger, you will be able to hold the position with your legs closer together.

  • Is it bad if you aren't shaking while planking but you can't hold it for a minute because of too much pressure?

  • @EncouraginTv The fact that you are not shaking indicates that you have good stability. Since you can't hold it for long indicates the need for more strength. Just keep doing it everyother day and you'll be strong in no time!

  • extremely easy

  • My back feels AMAZING after that!

    Thank you so much <3

  • WHAT A BOSS

  • @schwarzfalk Don't do it every day. I've been the same, not seeing much progress until I took a break of several days, after which I managed to go up to 3 full minutes, quite unexpectedly.

  • @olivkah ok thx

but then how do we know WHEN to take a break? I no longer have DOMS (soreness) or anything, so its impossible to tell when we gotta stop

like, someone told me that small muscles dont need breaks - so I figure that wrist exercises (grip-squeeze) can be done daily, yet I don't see any progress there either :/

  • I did it, I did it! I started at 1 minute and went up to 3 minutes, with the arm/leg thing and all!

  • is it normal to get a elevated heartbeat from this exercise?

  • @GustavoNY - Anytime you exert yourself, your heartrate can go up. This exercise requires an extraordinary contraction of all your core muscles as well as your arms and legs. So yes, it can raise your heart rate, but only by 10-20 beats per minute. Anymore and you're probably really out of shape.

  • i did it ;)

  • YOU are HOT!!!!!

  • Your core is involved in all movement, all strength and all flexibility. It's the center of power of your body, and when your core is strong, you will perform better in all physical activity and sports. The power of a punch, the swing of a club, bat or racket, the lifting of a weight, the drive to the basket or through the line all starts and is performed through your core.

  • @drgratale I've been told abpout this exercice many months ago & I've been doing it for 2 minutes a day every day

AND so far I'm exhausted everytime. which means there's been no progress (else it outa get easier right?)

so maybe it's a genetic limit or something

same kinda prob with deltoids (eg. military press) and biceps/laterals (pulls ups) I've hit a limit and it ain't even a high limit

guess I probably need steroids or something but I'm trying to find which is the safest. any ideas?

  • @schwarzfalk like what olivkah said. take a break for a day or so. this gives your muscles time to recover. also, dont do steroids. theres no reason to.

  • What happens when you have a strong core, what does it do!!!

  • Well then complete the test, and then ask you mother for one.

  • Im a 15 year old male weighing 140lbs I usually work out my core and this test helped me see how well I was doing I was able to hold myself well until I had to lift both my arm and leg I ALMOST lost my balance and I did shake slightly but I was able to overcome it in the end. Thanks for the test

  • @DaNicksta3 Strengthen your legs.. sounds like you have either an exceptionally strong core, or you need some serious extra leg strength.

  • I think he left out the part where you eat a bag of potato chips in front of the TV.

  • My most hated exercise. Has to be done though!

  • Finally a video that doesn't just show the plank position and says: hold this for 30-60 seconds. But doing exercises while in plank position + the full video what to do during these minutes.

Thanks for the video, it will help alot.

  • im 19 with back problem, i am going to start to do this test so i am ready for some heavy ass weights in deads and squats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i found out that my core was really weak.

if i get really good in this exercise and strenghten my core will they help me squat and deadlift with a natural spine??

  • planking.. yea i got 5 mins in my fitness class with this, p90x helps

  • I shook a bit but I followed along. It was HARD! I'm 24. Thanks for the video.

  • got any hard games?

  • ya i know. i shake around the 2 minute mark

  • i completed the test first try.

And im 12 years old. Served ha

  • @Steve34tank Good for you Steve, your core is strong for your age. Where you shaking during the test. If you were, that means you need to work on the stability part. Good Luck

  • @Steve34tank

    GO STEVE!!!!!

  • @GhostAvenger620 Thanks !_!

  • @Steve34tank it's BECAUSE you're 12 that it makes it easier. Get some bulk and you'll see how tough it gets. Maybe add a weighted vest to compensate?

  • @justinhardt1 dude i can bench press 120lbs and i also weigh 148 lbs

  • @Steve34tank You want a cookie??

  • @mrabbani08 YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Steve34tank Great but words of Han Solo in Star Wars come to mind "don't get cocky kid" gravity does not factor much on small light weight, relatively unformed, bodies children, wait a few years until you have mass & then watch gravity go to work ..

  • Thanks Dr Pete, this workout is great - simple but boy is it effective. I found it by accident whilst looking for solutions to lower back pain (your lower back workout is also excellent). I'm 49, 6 foot 3 and 230 pounds, so my age, long levers and weight aren't exactly in my favour. First attempt, useless, I could barely do the opening minute warm up. Day 2, I failed trying to lift 2 limbs. Day 3, I cracked it. I now feel much stronger and fitter. Everyone should have a go at this test.

  • this is amaaaaaaaaaazing .. u can realy feel it :P

  • aced it.. thats whatsup

  • nice house

  • how much did you weight before doing this?

  • You were sweating cause you were in the sun, dude!

  • Thank you,i feel much better :)

  • Working out is a lifelong pursuit, but you will se very quick results with this exercise because it not only strengthens your core but it also trains your nerves (which control your muscles) to keep your mid section stable and toned. Do the exercise daily and depending what type of shape you're in now, you can see results in 2 to 4 weeks.

  • damn i feel it but first try and i aced it =D (i do karate) so perhaps i just continue doing it daily or up the time or ... idk help me out thanks

  • You can up the time or do more than one set. Be on the lookout for a new video soon showing the advanced variations of this exercise. You've graduated high school now let's go on to core college!

  • @UnderstandingAll I aced it as well and I do Kukjae Hap-Ki-Do, the martial arts really do help :D

  • You're welcome

  • how long does it take to get results?

  • Thank you so much for posting this!!
