Too many people dismiss them as a band, although they have heard only a couple of songs and not even bothered to read the lyrics... @Dickstar86 Maybe it's uncool to like them because they are popular (Even though GnR were back in the 80s and still are among 12 year old wannabe rockers) And maybe fake fans love them in the wrong way without understanding them, but listen to the lyrics, look at some of Billie Joe's guitar solos, look at Mike Dirnt's crazy bass skills, and Tre Cool's drumming. Together they are great musicians. I love punk music like the Dead Kennedys, The Clash, The Exploited, GBH. Green Day are just as good.

I suggest you just start listening to all the rock music you can get your hands on. You'll get over Green Day eventually. Those bands I listed above are a good place to start.
