I never said gears was good; I also believe it sucks ass, but you cannot deny they set the bar with this generation's third-person shooters, which now all follow its gaming mechanic. I'm just saying that mechanic is so outdated and they need to try something different, and yes, this game appears to follow that mechanic, but is only enhanced with better animations.

splitscreen is so outdated, co-op is almost a give-in to any shooter. multiplayer and long campaigns never co-exist, it's either on or the other.

also, i remember seeing the release date for it being early 2011.

While i do admit that playing online and having the whole TV screen to yourself i much more fun then having to split the screen in half when playing co op. I really find it fun a lot of times to have someone sit next to me and play games together.

And about the long campaigns and multiplayer,i think Halo 3 kinda falls into that category,not that the campaign was like a 1 week long but it wasnt short either. And i dont need to talk about the MP. Gears of war is a fine example too

truth is, the only thing that would make spec ops memorable is if they focused all their attention to making a groundbreaking singleplayer game. i mean EVERY fucking game now a days has multiplayer. i really wish we could just go back to have singleplayer games with depth. though multiplayer is fun.
