Bought a 1500 Classic in '02 and love it. Went to a bike show to see the Voyager and came away with one word in mind, FLIMSY. The lids on the trunk and bags are crap, the floorboards have a downward slant and overall everything plastic is way too thin. This model had a lot of potential but mama Kaw lost the battle in an effort to reduce weight by using material that feels like it will crack at every seam/hinge point after a few thousand miles. Just my opinion.
since i can't afford one outright, any millionaires who want a write off, help a Vet, i'll trade my clean 81 gl1100 dresser for one! no joke!! sweet bike, never had anything new.
thats because if your going to bad mouth some thing you should know your facts...its like having a battle of wits with and unarmed oppenent....Kawasaki may not hav e the overall market share.but they will sell the hect outa these because of the technolgy....not everyone is willing to compromise for air cooled dinasour...there are some of the HD faithful whom have asked for this technolgy be adapted to the Harley but it has sofar fallen on deaf ears....
Well it actually comes down to preference. I've seen no difference. This coming from riding a 2006 HD Ultra Classic, a Yamaha Venture 91, and a Gold Wing.
If you're talking about an aftermarket screen that's nothing more than mounting hardware and plexi, then ya. But some things I've noticed:
Frame mounted fairings have 1 negative, the headlights are stationary so riding in night, the light points straight instead of into the corner.
Fork mounted fairings tend to tire you out faster as you're turning the fairing with the wheel, rather than just the wheel, plus you DO fight the wind.
Extra thousand bucks? you mean an extra $5,000. And don't mention the extra $200-$300 for regular servicing. I haven't seen a harley that can keep up with a kawasaki. So whos the wanna be?
what was it you ride again? Your videos don't show anything, and your comment shows no motorcycle intelligence . . . I agree with okbye1, I bought my bike to ride and keep so I got one that would last, not look at and have to sell for a new one.

Does it really matter what you are riding, ride what you like. Be thankful that you can get out and ride.

The price is right, but its hideous looking. I dont want a Harley lookalike. It does have some nice features.

There are those who fix bikes and those who ride bikes... And those who do both... This bike appeals to the rider in me!.....

I understand HD had some touring mockups using the VRod motor but could not get them to have any decent fuel mileage so the scrapped the program.
