I hate how birds (more so than most other animals) have evolutionary pressure to produce entirely superficial and seemingly arbitrary traits, like armpits or dances. It doesn't help the species at all, it just specializes it, and makes it more unique compared to other species.

It's like the attraction in humans to large breasts. It doesn't help humans to have larger breasts, but they're still attractive.
