Nice 1080p screen but wont upgrade till they start shipping with1080p IPS screens. What is it about laptops and their rubbish viewing angles. Eevn tablets and mobile phones have IPS nowadays!!

Unlike many other laptop, if ur warranty for thinkpad expired, you can buy more. Yes, this means you can buy more after you have destoryed or damaged your laptop and they will fix it. so..yea basic this happened to me, I dropped my t60 on solid cement pavement while the laptop was open, it broke the hinge while my t60 pass the warranty date (even though it came with 3 years back then). so I purchased more warranty and they kindly fixed the etire laptop. if you have something important buy this.

even though im not a big fan of macs (they r ok but they are tyrants with their ad campains) I thought macs were used for people in the film business.

@jmans25 For ~8yrs Macs gained popularity but still <20% of the biz. Macs are stable(few configs)for work apps but ALWAYS lag yrs behind on performance. They don't crash the traditional way *old Windows machines do (they "reboot" themselves which I find MORE obnoxious; they're great if you're not tech-savvy) but there's no Macbook pro that will come near this in performance&stability. Lenovo(formerly IBM Thinkpads) are what Microsoft&the US gov't use(12+yrs),these +a few Panasonic toughbooks :)

People who demand for "gaming" laptops instead of laptops like this are basically asking for the high performance of a notebook such as this, minus the excellent design, safety features, reliability, battery life etc etc that make lenovo notebooks (and other notebook brands I'm sure) what they are. That's what alienware and asus is for.

Besides, if you want to game, the best way to go is to build a desktop yourself anyways.

btw i have a thinkpad t510 and i have a squeaky right side palmrest area. though i am not going to trade it in for anything else because even though it is a minor annoyance it is still better than any laptop out there :)

ThinkPad notebooks have always been targeted at the business, government and corporate sectors, with the W series workstation line targeted specifically towards CAD users and visual arts specialists. Gaming simply isn't part of their target market. If you're looking for the solid reliability, rigid construction and business class performance/dependability, get a ThinkPad. If you want to game, look elsewhere.

@cApNhOwDy this laptop first of all is a no bull laptop and is not geared towards gaming. it is geared towards professionals

@tf88888888 its obviously not for gaming, but there doesn't seem to be a problem if you were to use it for gaming. The quadro 2000 is considered top tier performance graphics card. With that in mind, you can game some pretty intensive games.

Again you are right that it isn't geared towards gaming, but then again there shouldn't be a problem with that if you end up using the w520 for gaming. And you also get a pretty kickass computer for working too!
