@VovinaMilano I know... but sparring especially in Vovinam is not about killing the other guy. It is about techniques and control. I dont know about the rules in Italy or Europe but in Australia if you knock someone out, you are eliminated as well. I think the rule is good since it forces us to learn to better control our punches and kicks. On the street he is just another stranger but in Vovinam at the end of the day he is colleague.
@MrArmstrong1990 I understand you..but the rules of WORLD VOVINAM FEDERATION have the KO, so you can beat the other until he stop to fight...of course, in this case maybe you loose some techniques, but for the techniques there are many technical competition of Song Luyen and Quyen..so I prefere to see Vovinam as martial art really effective in the fight like other fight sport and martial art..
@VovinaMilano I read ur essay too ...You mentioned about the difficulty of learning martial art as a westerner. I think the culture and the languages are big barriers. It is very hard to explain some concepts to Europeans as well.... like Inner energy (chi) and pressure points. What we are taught these days with all these moves are only half of the true marital art.
Thanks for commenting. It is very interesting talking to you.
@MrArmstrong1990 of course..I am trying to learn vietnamese because I am sure I miss too much of Vovinam..I try to find all the books and everything about Vovinam to understand better..but it's difficult..but I have time :-)
@MrArmstrong1990 don't you think that fighting is only fighting..you can't decide to fight like Vovinam or other..you fight to win..so it depends what happen in the fight..and street fightingi is a real fight..so I think is good..that means this fight can be real..just a question..also to have an idea about your thought of spar..thanks ;-)

@VovinaMilano ..if we fight thinking only about a technique it will be a fake fight and if you fight against another martial art we can't fight. Vovinam born really effective but sometimes people show only the DEMO of Vovinamn and think that VVN isn't a good martial art for self defense and fight, but it isn't..if you want you can read my thesis for the Hong Dai Nhat Cap, you can find on the vovinamvvd/com Vittorio Cera, I talked also about it.
@VovinaMilano U misunderstood me about what I mean by correct techniques. Correct techniques not only effective in fighting since they allow you to kick harder. The video above, even though that they are yellow belts they swung their arm kind of reckless. If someone as good as my instructor, the guy would be finished in less than 30 seconds.
If you have a chance, watch Le Cung (youtube) fight. Every kicks and every punches have purpose! that are the kind of techniques I was talking about.
@MrArmstrong1990 Le Cuong is very strong, Ilike him..I already know him. OK, I know what you mean..but when you fight against another country is not so easy, because is Vovinam, but the stile is different every countries. About the belts..maybe aren't yellow, but the rules want that ALL the competitor wear the yellow without any difference of level..thanks again!
@VovinaMilano by the way, I just show you the rules of WVVF and EVVF (European Vovinam Federation) and also the Vietnam Vovinam Federation..but thanks a lot for your comment..have a nice day and I hope to know you in the future!
