if someone says they study belly dance for so long, then how come they say that tribal fusion isn't belly dance? it just makes them look very ignorant. tribal fusion is so different because its a FUSION of all belly dances!! geez people its in the name just think a little.

wooouuu nunca me imagine que goticos interpretaran el belly dance en su tendencia y forma de vida,ya que por lo que logro apreciar lo llebaron a otro nivel que en lo personal he quedado boqui-abierto con el ghotic belly dance, algo que muchas personas lo mirarian inusual extrabagante ó exagerado por la bestimenta, y lamentablemente no hay tantas personas de mente abierta como nosotros, que haceptamos a la persona por lo que es y no por como lusca,

@molarmama5 I'm sorry, but this just made me even more mad. You are talking about, "Our Lord's teachings," yet you are spreading so much negativity to these dancers? Okay, we get that you've been dancing for 30 years and I RESPECT that. But you cannot single tribal fusion dancers out, just for being different. All tribal fusion is, is belly dance taken with greater isolations, etc. I know a lot of dancers with different styles, and they all accept each other just the same. Give them a chance.

Your comment just proved my point. Your initial response was full of sarcasm. I am aware of "ALL OF THE FUSIONS", out there. All I stated is your piece is not belly dance and (therefore does not fit its' criteria), to the seasoned dancer. I do not care what you do on stage, but it doesn't bear any resemblance to raks sharki.

I have studied Belly Dance for 30 yrs , though I hate it when people name drop, to introduce myself; i'll do so. Serena Wilson, Nagwa Fouad and Zohair Zaki were happy with what I was doing onstage. I know the dance. Do not be so hostile, why is this so? You can call it anything you want but it is NOT recognizable as raks sharqi. Period. Dancers used to be gracious to a fellow dancer. Now young dancers become too hostile over the slightest perceived criticism. Lightenup!

I believe that you misunderstood me. My initial post was that this dance that they were doing was not belly dance. That is all. Until gabylink became defensive.

There is not any grace with the younger dancers, and the"old guard" like myself.

I found them to be rude, intolerant, and NOT open to suggestions from someone

whom has danced for 30 years. All they want is praise and a contract with M. Copeland. Much of what they do is crap, and needs a lot of work.

Mhh, esto no tiene nada de adefesio cariño, lo Tribal y lo gotico decidieron fusionarse por que habia algo en comun. El la fusión de la danza tribal y gotica tienen ya sus 20 añitos, asi que no puedes decir que es un adefesio, no por nada se fusionaron. Lo que si esta feo, desgraciadamente es el vestuario, pero lo demas estuvo bueno. Felicidades y saludos desde Mexico.
