It depends on how u level your character. When you have maxed out your mjor skills, or if u have maxed out ur attributes, you can not level up more, though that's actually good since your enemies will level up too. Around level 25-30 would be the optimal level in my opinion, since the weapons you will get will have it's highest level of enchantment, but if you are at a lower level, the weapon will do less damage and enchantments would be weaker. But usually you would be around 40 when u stop lvl

Think of leveling up in Oblivion as reaching a new "level", not in the "I'm A level 4" sense but rather in the "I'm IN level 4" sense. You've reached a new stage where enemies are tougher. You better have great minor skill levels too or you're screwed. But this means favoring minor skills over major skills which is totally backwards.

Between having MINOR SKILLS, MAJOR SKILLS OR PIVOTAL STORY EVENTS progress the enemies' leveling, why oh why did Bethesda choose the second over the last?

Oblivion is still a very demanding game, even tho it was released several years ago. You CPU is fast enough since its a Core 2 Duo CPU. If it was a 1.6GHZ Athlon of P4, then it would have been far to slow for a good experience. As for your ram, 3Gb is enough to run this game smoothly. You forgot to mention the most important part and the deciding factor of your PC's ability to play games. The GPU. What Kind of graphics card do you have? If its an 8600GT or higher, youll be all set.

Your all set, the Mobility Radeon 2400XT is plenty fast to play Oblivion at 1024X768- everything maxed. I played Oblivion when it first came out on my old machine which was an AMD Athlon FX-53, ATI X850XT,4GB Ram- and it played at 1280X1024 everything maxed with HDR at almost 40FPS average. So your setup should yield between 25-32FPS a second at 1024X768 everything maxed no AA with Bloom enabled. Maybe HDR if you overclock and dont forget to boost the fan speed. Get Full version of Fraps from me

Your welcome man- happy gaming, take your time with it, They dont make alot of games like Oblivion and Fallout 3, but when these types of games are released, enjoy them to the fullest because its gonna be a few years until a sequel is released. I played the hell out of Oblivion, all my different characters combined, i prably invested about 300 hours into it no joke. Im workin on Fall Out 3 and GTAIV right now, but i still fire up Oblivion when those games bore me.

Yeah, I'm kinda late playing the game, just rented it from a Movie Gallery nearby. I freaking LOVE the first person view. So much different from all the 3rd person Rpgs... Though you can switch back and forth, which allows for good situational awareness (particularly at night when being pursued).

For example my 8800GTS can have to HD TV's Attached. As for the controllers, you can attach a ps3/xbox360 and even wii controllers to the PC. Surround sound... Lawl, Most pcs come with a 5.1 surroundsound chipset onboard. I have a 7.1 surroundsound setup. And if u want a xbox live experiecne, theres Xfire, Steam, Windows Live.

Pretty soon im going to be makeing an Elder Scroll movie of my own where I show you the hidden castles and caves that you can only find after you have 100% on map, meaning you've found all the other places for the map, including the hidden glitch inthe city of Kavatch where you can catch yourself on fire and walk around on fire the rest of the game without being hurt and the people calling you the fire god. Also where all the guardian's tears are located seeing how they hard hard to find.
