  • would have been nice to see what he would have done, besides watching him as a boring knick.

  • @brad11971 i agree with you 100 percent

  • Smoothest player i have ever seen!!

  • Ward had a successful 11 year career in the NBA, but he will forever be known as an elite QB.

  • Holly shit that last jump WOW.

  • "shows that tebow truly is a more accurate passer."

Bwahahaha. If Tebow only threw the ball half as much as Ward did, the results would have said otherwise. Also what the stats dont usually show is that roughly 87% of Tebows passes completed were under 10yrds. It doesnt take a whole lot of accuracy to toss a shovel pass to a pair of backs/receivers that can burn defenses left and right with blazing speeds. Tebow was good with a "great team" around him. Charlie Ward was a better "player" and QB

  • damn he was before his time, still one of the greatest College Football Players I ever seen, sadly that would not have gave him the chance to play QB in the NFL back then

and he made a Ton of Money with the Knicks so I guess you can say he made the right choice but I think he would have been a great NFL QB

  • charlie ward is my high school football coach at westbury chrisian schoo,

  • best qb fsu had

  • He always ran by design. He pumped and then ran he new he wasn't going to throw it. He played in the ACC at it's weakest. And that's a fact due to there record 77-0. I agree with you on teblow he wasn't even the best player on his team. When you have 6 guys on the field that can run 4.3's you can do anything and that showed. Charlie did more with less, his defense made him good by keeping him on the field. He still not as good as you thing he is, he didn't even get drafted.

  • @TheBallbag68 Thats because he didn't ender the draft. He has a good career in the NBA idiot. He was told at the time there was no use for a black quarterback that could run in the NFL.

  • i remember watchin this game

  • Ward shoulda never left football

  • this page

  • just type in tim tebow and skip bayless. its a pretty good argument

  • Skip could just as easily argued that Ward was better. Like Ocho said he just says things for shock value & to win the debate.

  • A pure athlete. I sure do miss the glory days.

    GO NOLES!!!!!

  • What I love about Charlie is he actually read defenses and looked to throw first ...

  • this is only a taste of what he can do he's got the speed the arm and the acurracy

  • That's why he won the Heisman

  • He shoulda played Football, he woulda been very good I think

  • Can't blame him for going the NBA route. He had a longer career and didn't suffer any injuries. He got a Heisman and a national championship in football....I think he's okay with the way things went.

  • south georgia boy. they named a street after him in thomasville.

  • chaaaaaaarliiiiiiieeee waaaaaaaaaaard

  • Tebow who???

  • check my page for the argument tebow vs charlie ward on espn2. i think charlie ward was better imo. definately a better thrower!

  • Its weird that you think that cause when i look at the stats i see Tebow has more passing yards, more passing tds, better completion percent, less interception, not to mention more rushing tds, and more rushing yards

  • stats? this isnt baseball man. the only way you can tell in football, basketball and hockey and soccer and sports like that is look at their play! how old are you? Baseball is for stats. other sports is about the play. When you get done with all that charlie won the heisman by the largest slide ever. tebow can barely beat bradshaw, mccoy out of it!

  • bradford, excuse me!

  • true cant always go by stats but completion percentage and interceptions are 2 you can go by. shows that tebow truly is a more accurate passer. plus if i looked at their play i would much rather have tebow. his emotion and leadership is unmatched. He also made a better run then this against urs truly florida state

  • check out my page for tebow vs ward. i didnt think of this argument. i just think it is probably true. But nothing with out a doubt that shows hes does have better emotion. After that one loss he did the best single turn around speech since "win one for the gipper" and im not even sure if that was real! i don't think he was a better thrower or a better runner. But i guess you can't go wrong with a guy who has 2 championships and 1 heisman!

  • @DCProductions77 Tebow didn't win da first.....Percy was da man at FLA moe. Tha first championship tha "D" and Percy made that squad to it's first ring. Charlie ward is way betta than Tebow and played against da U and da Gators at tha top. I'm tired of everyone saying Tebow won both by himself. He only won one as a starter and Percy is da reason they won both. Example, this year w/out Percy no ring. Ward hands down

  • Are u kidding me? Look at the systems they played in? Ward played in a pro style offense where tebow plays in a spread offense.... Tebow runs veer, midline, zone read from shotgun.... Ward got undercenter and ran not by design but by instinct.... Ward and Tebow shold never come up in the same sentence.... Ward could do what Tebow does but Tebow couldnt do what Ward did

  • You put Tebow in a pro style offense and he would get exposed faster than titties at Mardi Gras!

  • @royjonesillest Say that again =)

  • @royjonesillest Tebow actually PLAYS IN THE PROS.... That is "pro style" by definition.... Ward would've NEVER made it to the league, he was too small.

  • @alexwilsonNC You cant say Ward never made it in the NFL when he never played in it. He went straight to the NBA New York Knicks. If he had chosen to go into the NFL he would have been a good player. Charlie was a good passer, he could beat you with his arm before he beat you with his feet. I am not knocking Tebow, hes darn good, still the two on the same field at the same time Charlie & Tim would put on an exhibition, still Charlie would edge him out on skills

  • @davisnneal I can say he never made it because he never did...scouts told him he was a 3rd rounder at best...

I don't even know how you can argue this when Tebow is in the NFL.

  • @davisnneal Yes I can... He never made it in the NFL. That is a fact. I am not doubting that he could've been "good", but better than Tebow? You are sleeping on Tebow....

If Ward got hit 1 time in the NFL his career would be over. He is too small. Tebow is the size of a linebacker... Huge difference...

We can agree that Charlie was the better basketball player than Tebow, but football? It's not even close...

  • @alexwilsonNC Charlie Ward 6'2", how many 6'2" nfl quaterbacks are their?? Steve Young, Brett Farve, John Elway all super bowl winners and muliple pro bowlers all scrambling quaterbacks like Ward and was fater than them all. Vick is only 6'

  • @alexwilsonNC He wasn't too small. He was a 6'2 QB and he could of played in the NFL. He didn't go to the NFL because he didn't want to be a 2nd round pick. Charlie had won every award you could win in college football in 1993.

  • Charlie Ward is definitely a better runner dude tebow really isn't a great runner he's good at the goal line lol wtf? he's a fuckin quarterback look at that talent he has around him omg it's crazy charlie ward is much better than tebow... and who's better than both VINCE YOUNG in college but thats a argument for another day

  • Whats the page?? I have to see this thing-im depressed that in this world of youtube we have such limited video of Ward

  • He was asked to play backup for Joe Montana.

  • he was asked to replace Joe Montana at Kansas City

  • Shame no 1 in the NFL Drafted him. SHAME ON THE NFL!

  • They did draft him. He wanted to play in the NBA.

  • I withdraw the statement. They didn't draft him cause he said if they didn't draft in the 1st round he'd go to the NBA. NFL teams supposedly did not want to waste a first round pick on a guy that might go to the NBA.

  • Oh Damn, i had no idea! I thought he was wort a #1 pick. He in 93-94 came out that was on his level? Y not take a shot? i would have!

  • he was drafted. but he didn't want to go in later rounds. later rounds= less money. he might've had a better career though.

  • Nice upload. Brings back great memories. Do you have any Casey Weldon/Lawrence Dawsey highlights?

  • da best fsu qb

  • The Heisman hurdle. I love that play.

  • lol Virginia football is so soft.

  • Nice play by Mr. Charlie Ward
