I saw them in a small Edmonton bar in 1983, opening for Kim Mitchell. Sat at the bar and watched the show. Could not have been more than 30 people there. I think it was $5 to get in.
Santers !! Killer band saw them at least 15 times, bought all there records. The bassist Rick was a big influence for me ,a young bassist at the time.Canada used to really Rock back then now it's all gone to shit.Cheers Boy's !!
SANTERS. Live at The Phoenix Concert Theatre on August 5th 2010. You heard right. The boys are back and it's going to be loud, eclectic and electric. Thanks for all the kind words about the band everyone. We'll be playing this one at the show.

Hey Paul. Is that you, Karen's brother? Must be. I do remember you zipping around on a Honda in T Bay. Lost touch with Rome. Don't know where he got to.

i was into santers in the 80s when nobody in australia had even heard of them, dang i wish i had a chance to see them live but they never came here. At least now i can see them on youtube, thanks for posting!!
@TimLindsay Thats awsome.. I actually hang out with him alot.. he just fixed up my guitar last night.. and we jammed to some old 80's songs :D. it was fucking insane how amazing this guy really is.. just picks up any tune.. and plays along.. absolutely insane.. Ive got alot to learn from that man :D
Great band...used to see them at the Nags Head North. If you see Rick once in a while, tell him to get the band's catalogue back out in the market....it's damn near impossible of find their stuff, and when you do (eBay), it's really expensive.
yea umm no need to worry.. he actually just finished his Best hits or something like that.. its like his old stuff put together.. my mom listened to it and said its awsome.. so yea get ready for that to come to stores.. soon i beleive
thanks i havent heard much of Santers music but ive started to listen to em cuz my dad told me that one night at a bar my dad did sound and lighting for him in toronto :)
One of my very most favourite bands from that time period...always great every time I saw them. They were even better when they reunited in the early 2000's. Wish they'd do it again!
Anybody remember their song "The Rapper" from the Shot down in Flames album?,classic song. Canada has produced some great hard rock bands in the late 70's & early 80's.All you people out there that are still fans,Keep that vinyl spinning!!!!
Great hey sr804 i lived 1 block from the old Coronet loved that bar dancing on the bottom , porkeys second floor and live bands upstairs hahaha :) Santers, Goddo, Wilcox just to name a few
This is sooo cool! Brings back great memories of solid r/r. I saw these guys @ Triumph's 8th birthday party at the Knob hill Hotel in Scarberia. They rocked!! Thanx for posting.
F'n brilliant band! The first 2 albums are gems - they sound as fresh now as they did 25 years ago. Timeless classics! What a shame they never broke through on a bigger level. When Triumph are getting back together and gig/tour now that Rik has made up with Mike and Gil I want the Santers to open up for them!
man this band was lost in my memories an dayum good thing i checked coney hatch an there it was santers these guys rocked especially shot down in flames thanks guys for opening the door of long lost metal archives.
Rick and I used to work together at an office, so u can imagine how cool it is for me to see him in those tight, sexy jeans springing all over the stage.
This video was from a show at Massey Hall where we opened, Johnny Winter was next and then Golden Earring finished the show. Winter rocked the house. About 1/4 of the people left after Winter finished his set.I put this clp together from an old VHS tape. Sorry the quality wasn't a little better. Rick Lazaroff / Santers bassist.
Good to here form you Rick, great bass work on all the songs.I am a drummer. A program called 'rock etc" televised this concert on a canadian channel back in the early '80s. it was simulcast on chom fm as well. i got home in time to record "you turn me on". I have all your cataloge on cd now--from ebay, i had most on lp. You guys wrote some of the best sonds i have ever herad and it is a shame you werent recognized more. Thanks for such great music!--still a fan in Vermont..
you have to think the archives at MuchMusic must be CRAMMED with great footage like this. All those shows that THE NEW MUSIC shot.....wow.....
I e-mail them every year and urge them to put genre compilation dvd's of footage. THey would shoot the opening two songs of the set as live cut away footage for their interviews. just imagine all those uncut on dvd.....
Wow - Memories - I won tickets on Chum in 1982 to see them at the El Macombo ... They did a vid at my High School in 81 - Last time I saw Rick / Rick and Mark was at Rockin Roll Heaven... Great band - should have been Legendary in Canadian Rock! Have been searching for a vid for years ... Thanks for the upload bro!
I wonder who they were opening for? I saw them open for Ozzy in 82' in Toronto and they were AMAZING!!! They never played all ages shows though abd had packed it in before I turned 19. sigh. They were WAY better then Coney Hatch who still get radio play here in Toronto. Carazy..
Sorry, it was Ready Records!
