  • Wtf is up with the crowd?

  • 5:08 god, imagine to have stevie playing at 1 meter

  • Where can I find this video in better quality?

  • Right, can someone please tell me if its voodoo Child or voodoo chile?!

  • @SL4GW4GG3N Although this guy has called it Voodoo Chile, the song is actually called Voodoo Child(slight return). Voodoo Chile is a slow 15 minute blues jam by Jimi Hendrix which led to Voodoo Child(slight return). Voodoo Child being the more structured song. This version is Voodoo Child. Voodoo Child is similar to Machine Gun which Jimi used to play at his live shows. Hope this helped :)

  • @MJlonir9 The funniest part, in the description I put Child. Oh well though. All that matters is watching this great performance.

  • He is 2nd Hendrix

  • @HardRocker0422 no he's the first srv, but hendrix would be blown away by this guy. wish they would've lived to meet each other.

  • That was a Fucking amazing performance.

  • On jest najlepszy i nikt nie może się z nim równać

    Dla mnie jest królem bluesa

    On jest naprawdę wielkim artystą

To mało co o nim powiedziałem, ale można o nim mówić w nieskończoność.

  • that fuckin slide was crazy !!!! how can he do that ? i shit my pants when i heard it.

  • When you're feeling down, Stevie Ray brings you right back up again. God bless him and Jeff Healey.

  • @papmjny Not sure if troll or just very stupid.....

  • his moves at 5:12 are supreme!!!!!! Stevie i love you!!!!!

  • That G# note is sooooooo nasty! wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh WE miss you stevie!

    RIP

  • #1 version of VooDoo Chile

  • thank America for youtube the internet, Stevie ray, jimi Hendrix ,fender, fender stratocaster, Texas, Seattle, blues, Jazz, and voodoo Chile to mention a few.

  • Who ever dont think that stevie didnt jamn is an idiot @papmjny. Jimmy was before his time and he picked up where Jimmy left off, and unfortantly no one could pick it up after Stevie.

  • @jakeandrea1 john mayer's getting close

  • Who ever dont think that stevie didnt jamn is an idiot @papmjny

  • Only SRV could play Hendrix. A true bluesman.

SRV & Hendrix, are both entertaining the Angels up in the Sky....

Your music For ever in our Hearts.

  • Was voodoo child original from jimi or SVR?

  • @moelarry3

    From JIMI boy....

  • The 6 people who gave this a thumbs down are not Voodoo Chiles. :(

  • Amazing.

  • Holy Shit, that slide at 7:10. Every video i see of him on Youtube, he never fails to amaze...

Taken far far too early... :(

    R.I.P

  • he has the meanist vibrato ever

  • Nothing to say, simply great.

    RIP SRV

  • Oh god 7:10 :') That is the most awesome thing I've ever seen :')

  • @MJlonir9 It looks like he says it too, watch his mouth when he does it!

  • happy birthday stevie

if you were alive you would have been 56 years old

    R.I.P

  • Hello Everyone it is Voodoo Chile not Voodoo Child!

  • @bengalsfan97 Who dey Motha fucka!!!! cincinnati! but hey dude, it was actually a mistake on the ablum from jimi. electric lady land had voodoo chile, a 12 bar jam with a oragn accompaniment and voodoo child (slight return) was this up beat return to close the album. it's a common misunderstanding

  • How does Stevie manage to make that sound at 03:19 - 03:46 ?

    It's so awesome :D!

  • @DennisCarvajal92

    playing one handed

  • excellent version ! too bad the sound quality isn`t at the same level!

    excellent live version.

my favourite after the studio original cover with dbl trouble

  • excellent version ! too bad the sound quality isn`t at the same level!

  • He was so coked up at this performance......totally stoned. The devil took control of his body that night in 1984....I can totally see it.

  • @mrgainesusmc

    Newsflash:

You cant really do coke and then perform on stage, provided that his sets were longer than 20-30 minutes, which they were. You'd play fantastic for a while, but then you'd come down, and you'd feel and play like absolute shit.

  • @mrgainesusmc assholes like u allways blaming the devil ur just jealous cause u didnt have talent like srv

  • Comment removed

  • SRV stile is mainly shufle

  • Did you shed a tear when you heard he was gone? Honestly I did, I felt like we just lost a true legend on guitar, and though I suppose he was not a fan of Cadillac cars like I am, he still played like no one else, with the soul of Jimi

  • RIP Stevie 20 years ago today we lost you.

  • The musical holy Grail folks: where endless natural talent, relentless pursuit and passion for excellence and SOUL come together. Wow! He was IT. My brain just imploded during the feedback with the whammy bar at the end....holy crap. You're so greatly missed Stevie. Rave on.

  • Wow. That is one of the most epic things I have ever seen! Look at him go!

  • ssssssiiiicccckkkkkkkk

  • wow i got the chills at 0:53

  • I believe it is chil' as opposed to child but not spelt chile-if u want the real slang/jive.

  • Moment of silence, please.

  • IS IT CHILD OR CHILE.LOL.IM IN DOUBT.BCUZ IN SOME VIDEOS I SEE CHILD AN IN OTHERS I SEE CHILE. EITHER WAY THIS SONG ROCKZ!

  • Check out maaa band :)

  • just an allaround great artist, The strings he use to play most of todays's "artist" could not even strum more less bend and shread with style....... wow

  • Geat to listen to while wasted

  • @papmjny - "Another poor Hendrix copy"? Oh, you poor sad creature! Every true artist, yes, even the Great Jimi Hendrix, built on what came before them. This man, Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughan, is indeed one of the true artists in this world of wanna-bees. Few, if any can come close to this level of skill, perseverance, and raw, unfettered talent. Open your eyes, man, there is greatness before you and you do not even see it!

  • @TheSkunkbelly i'd say this. jimi created and played this song amazingly. and even if i get in flames, my ears tell me every time that stevie ray vaughan made voodo child perfect. he fixed jimi's very litlle lacks.

  • @TheSkunkbelly

This is simply SRV paying tribute. He is not a wannabee. They were both great artists with hugely different backgrounds and upbringings. Trying to compare who was better is really just a matter of taste. Throw in Clapton and Rory Gallagher as well as a dozen other true originals and it is still the case. It is not a battle for supremacy ( to them anyway) They were and are just doing their thing. Just enjoy.

  • @TheSkunkbelly i think the problem a lot of people had with srv was the fact that he played this song a little too often.

  • @TheSkunkbelly I cant believe there is people like that guy, you absolutely right! He is a poor sad creature. There goes a thumb up.

  • @TheSkunkbelly god couldnt put it better. respect

  • @slashhudson I heard god is jealous of SRV's guitar skills.

  • @TheGhostlord u heard right sir :D

  • @papmjny stevie is a lot better than robin and all those other guys, also hes got that soul

  • @papmjny At least Stevie didn't choke to death on his own puke like Jimi.

  • @bubbiesdad heyy, why you gotta say that about hendrix?

  • @Journeydakyubi Well, it happened. At least Jimi died the mythical rock star death. In fact I think he originated it. Followed later by Bon Scott and John Bonham.

  • @bubbiesdad right, its a tragedy. but they were all doing crazy stuff back then, and its the music and his stage presence that will be remembered, not the asphyxiation.

  • @bubbiesdad A lot of people played with their lives experimenting with drugs, I believe it was a deadly cocktail for Hendrix, Booze and pills that caused his demise

  • he was jesus on guitar this is easily as good as hendrix,s version fucking shame what happened to stevie imagine if he was still alive what he would have accomplished he would have been untouchable

  • Fucking amazing !!!!!! The Best !!! Period ! None better !!!

  • LONG LIVE THE MEMORY OF SRV......He pretty much came to closets to Hendrix. Even closer than Robin Trower or Frank Marino. I don't think any other guitar player can come the closet to VOODOO CHILE Like Stevie. I don't think Robin Trower ever played Voodoo Chile. What's great about blues....these fancy gutiar players like Buckethead, Halen, Satriani with all of their tricks cannot come close to the SOUL of the blues. I heard Buckethead do Voodoo Chile. Sorry, not even close. lol

  • 2:57 to 3:05 : impossible riff !

  • gigantic

  • this is the best cover i've heard of this song its 2nd to only jimmy's version

  • WOW..thats why SRV called as one of Guitar Legend in the world

  • This was back when you could actually listen to the music. Its simply amazing

  • has he got some funky sounding reverb on or is just the venue making that sound?

  • @william1theguitarwah i think its just the echo of the place.

  • yea...id say stevie was in the groove with this one!! hell yea he was!!!!

  • 7:10!!! IS!!!! SICK!!!!!!

  • i wonder if SRV ever took shrooms and had a sudden burst of creativity on the guitar... if i was there when it happened my head probably would have exploded

  • just unbelievable.

  • so nice

  • !este loco me despeluca , me carga de energia totalmente !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!uffffffffffffffff

  • do you guys hear the monster slide he does at 7 10

  • Damn, that was powerful!

  • @mdmce1

That has GOT to be post processing...

  • @mdmce1 you mean this one? 7:10 :)

  • 6:51-the stevie shuffle

  • Totally wasted but still playing his ass off, love it!

  • Jimi didn't die in 1970 he used time travel, dematerialized himself and traveled to the year 1984, where he materialized in the hands of good 'ol Steve. Steve did the same, yet he's waiting to materialize in the hands of someone.

Steve you are one of the best!!!!

You and Jimi will rock in our hearts forever.

  • I guess he just keeps getting better and better.

  • Isnt this Voodoo Chile?

    Jimi plays Voodoo Child...

  • what is that thing MANNN

    fake beard ??? lol

  • i wish i could play one tenth of one percent like this... that would be amazing for me ..this is so good......but that being said....SRV or anyone ....just could not even come close to hendrix on this song...and if you watch his woodstock version i dont see how you could disagree...but thats just me

  • He was one of the greats, still is, probably making some spanish castle magic with jimi up in the great gig in the sky...

    R.I.P

    SRV and Jimi.

  • Man that slide at 7:10 was freaky loud heavy and just awesome

  • VRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMM

  • that slide is 7:09 is the single gnarliest, sexiest, dirtiest, greatest, most untouchably badass thing i've ever seen. RIP SRV

  • i completely fucking agree

  • @ephesians117 check out some hendrix slidess... you think that was awsome...

  • hes good but u still cant rlly compare to jimi

  • Shizzlest2 yah your right hes way better

  • i just have to agree....im not bashing SRV in any way....but that truth just bleeds through so easily to me

  • aaamazing...i can be proud that this was in germany =)=)- so i can say stevie ray vaughan has played in germany to everybody^^

  • im surprised ive never seen this video before. I think the reason this is better than the voodoo chile at el mocambo is because hes playing infront of a big crowd and needs more gain and volume on his amp.which giver even more of a fatty punch chrunch fucking sexy tone/

  • i like the le mocambo ver better its clean and your right a little more punch wouldve been nice but that wasnt the mundayne as far as the audiance go that was just that time

  • absotutely awesome!!

  • this version is amazing

  • No one should play voodoo chile after that, even vai, satriani , slash...

  • Agreed. I can't put into words how big of a douschebag Vai is. I mean if you have an electric fan blowing your hair around in a live concert.... you are a dousche. Stevie blows them all out of the water.

  • holy shit! i thought i was the only one that noticed. that guy is such a fucking faggot!

  • Holy shit; at first i thought he must have had the fan to cool off its frikkin hot on stage but i searched for it and you're totaly right he looked soo damn gay there lulz

  • Musics no competition. It's just expressing your feelings. Hendrix, Clapton, SRV, BBKing, Page, etc who the fuck cares whos better. They all gave us something in life. BLUES FOREVER

  • maby this is the reason everyone names it as voodoo chile :S

either way truely epic player /performance

  • i miss you stevie

  • great!!!!!!!

  • Immense.

  • I feel ya atzro... stevie probably felt the same way about Hendrix! Awesome Rendition!!!

  • 7:10 scared the living shi* out of me! this is one of my fave songs, and the first blues song i played live

  • holy crap! i just watched 7:10 like 5 times, and he makes the most sour soul filled power face I've seen i n a while after that, it must have scared him too :) un-expected

  • Great find.

  • by the look in his eye, he was feeling good--especially after going down to the crowd for what i call his "middle" solo. he does open up as the song moves along. after he cleaned up, he was even stronger with his feel. an amazing talent. i know slash is on the cover of guitar hero--i say srv is due. he was a nuclear assualt.

  • this is the best version ive ever heard of him doing this song.. that i know of anyways

  • Mozart on a fender., what a ride for double trouble, it had to be amazing.

  • 10:51 of my life well spent. r.i.p in piece stevie

  • This is by far Stevie's best version of Voodoo Child. I haven't heard or seen any other guitarist play this song better than he did other than Jimi Hendrix. What a fuckin monster.

  • tony9L9L, you poor little retard.

SRV was, is and will always be one of the best rock guitar players of all times.

You sir are just a little angry bitch that has no life and goes on hatin people that are 1000 times better than you.

Fuck off dickhead and get a life.

  • He won the stars in millions of peoples eyes. Him and Hendrix are the two biggest reasons people pick up guitars. They are some of the biggest influences on everyone. You have to be good to bring back a dead Genre, SRV brought back the Blues from the dead, he himself revitalized that genre, and also changed the world with how he played the guitar. He won over millions of people and it is a shame he died so young, but his legacy has been left and will continue to grow with kids picking up guitars.

  • I can tell by your comments that you are a very unhappy person. Do us all a favor Tony and stick a gun in your mouth and pull the trigger. Better yet let me know when and where you do it and I will come over and clean up the mess.

  • srv is the very reason y i write music and play the blues on my black maple neck gold hardware American made Texas deluxe stratocaster, i love ya Stieve, may your spirit live on for ever

  • thas pritty ill

  • wow, he is an amazing guitarist, he is a god

  • 3:21

  • What the fuck are you saying?

Clean or not, SRV kicked the shit out of his guitar and of this song!

He is a god among gods!

  • seems like he controls the guitar just like a part of his body...instinctly, naturally...perfect !!!! so great to watch this !

  • it IS the same, just Stevie added in his own licks to it...

  • MjaTheNoob i totally agree with your favorites. my opinion switch those up a little bit. I think Hendrix should be first. Its different you know fans of Metallica think Kirk Hammet's the greatest, fans of AC/DC think Angus Young is the greatest people have to think of guitarist who really influenced music hugely and your five really did i agree with your favorites!!

  • This song is Voodoo Chile. Voodoo Child (Slight Return) is a slightly different but mostly shorter version (around 5 min)

  • Wrong! This IS Voodoo Child (Slight Return), Voodoo Chile is completely different song.(15 min Blues Jam)

  • It was suppose to be Chile, but it really doesn't matter anyway. It's basically the same thing, why get so petty over little spelling mistakes. It's not the title of the song that really matters, it is the genius and master playing it in that video.

  • it's stupid say that he is the first or the third or others positions......any amazing artist is the first....srv is real...a real artist....respect

  • this is basicaly the same as voodoo chilli but still amazing

  • Saw him in 1985 at the Civic Center in Des Moines, Ia. He is not from this planet. Words cannot describe his talent, music and passion. #1 on my list !

  • peeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Jimi Hendrix > Jimmy Page, ANY DAY.

  • #1 !!!!!!!!!

  • #1...#2....#3.... You guys are PATHETIC.

  • no no no #1 is jimmy page #2 srv

  • Ignorant...

  • #1 SRV

    #2 Clapton

    #3 Hendrix

    #4 Page

    #5 BB King

    Those are my favorites

  • god your stupid

  • I can't get no satisfaction ,always need SRV voodoo chile action.

  • SRV ROCKS!!!!!! #1

  • jimi would be proud

  • #1 Jimi. #2 SRV., thats it...

  • Dude Jimmy Page is up there. SRV is my #4.
