  • wow...that was painful to watch. I even shouted out loud when it hit and my wife comes into the room to see what the matter was. I hope you were able to get it fixed and back into the air.

  • that 3D sh*t

  • The Plastic Blade Holder flexes too much...

  • Comment removed

  • 100% the same case happened to my Rappy yesterday . Nose-down tic-tocs+Raptor 50 = total destruction

see the video answer "Raptor 50 Titan mid-air explosion and crash" The crash is just like yours...BOOM!

  • if i had that i wouldnt freak out either. When you have any rc hobby it will crash at some point. you know what if your lucky its only a few bucks, i know they happen from time to time with total loses but i havent seen anyone have one yet in person.

You know what i get mad for a min when i crash but then i have fun rebuilding it

  • They crash a 700 euro rc helicopter and they laugh ?

  • @skyhacker6

Trust me...if you don't laugh a little once you get over the initial "FML" you'll die inside :P

  • little hola-hoops hahaha... :D

  • blade strike hahaha

  • on a raptor you need to put in stiffer head dampers to toss it around like that, otherwise the stock ones will flex and let the blade come down and boomstrike. The disadvantage of a overslung flybar is the blades are lower and closer to the tailboom

  • don t play with a corpse

  • I think the boom broke, but I'm not sure.

  • WTF did you expect it to do with all that tick tocking motion???? Course the bloody blades where gonna flex and hit the boom FFS IDIOT!!!!

  • WTF did you expect it to do with all that ck tocking motion???? Course the bloody blades where gonna flex and hit the boom FFS IDIOT!!!!

  • I really like the thud that it makes when it hits the ground

  • what the f...!!!! That´s too bad :-(

  • need a new main shaft mate

  • @yeogav

Needs a new main Raptor 50

  • little crazy glue and it will be good as new!

  • Wow, that rotor head is fucked up. lol

  • a bit of sticky tape and cardboard will fix that in no time!!!!

  • What you can learn from this:

Never tell anyone to do this and this stunt.

I know this problem...most of the time exactly then anything happens xD

  • Crack not good... Boumce not good ...

    Poor Heli

  • what are you guys belly aching about???

that aint nothin some spit and string wont fix.

trust me, just dust it off with a tissue and its good to go.

  • Im guessing the blades hit the tail boom?

  • the blades inverted

  • i think i'll take the $100,000,000 helicopter for a first flight!

about 50 seconds later: SHIT FUCK! IT FUCKING CRASHED!!!

  • i like you tude about the crash but i still feel bad

  • hahaha das ding ist wie ne gurke gefallen xD

  • ahh thats sad.. sorry, but that looked good :P good work from cameraman aswell

  • nice one..

  • Mayday Mayday engine is on fire! request to land immediately!.

  • ya i dont understand why the flybar pattles can touch the canopy and the boom on regular rotation on my trex 450. i guess this is true with his maybe they need to design it so that this doesnt happen

  • Boom Strike woohooo, yeah a little bit of polish on a rag will sort it :D

  • have a tic tac and you'll forget all about it

  • "land? screw that ay to hard.....ill show you how to bring this bad boy back to earth......"

  • u can get a kit cheap enough from china.... if the electronics are still good

  • were is the explosion?

  • put it on ebay as tried and tested, someone will but it!

  • you can see the heli get out of shape and start to wobble on the rotor disc when you go for the inverted tick tocks - amazing the rotor disc / blades can flex that far to clip the boom.

  • ouch

  • it bounces nicely.....

  • boom hit blades oops ul pal

  • That sucks bad!!

  • Ouch!!! Was that because of fiberglass blades? I know people who have had problems with fiberglass blades flexing to much under load... That sucks, and to make the blade strike worse it was 40ft in the air so it had a ways to fall and do even more damage... Hate it when flying things stop flying...

  • ah dont worry. you just need some glue to fix it

    xD

  • Boom strike!! ;]

  • A perfect example why i'll never fly a RC helicopter ever again......

  • blades def hit the tail boom

  • nice to see humor come out of a crash, I cant tell you how many times Ive seen people get pissed and through the crashed heli in the back of the car all pissed off like and just storm off, never to be seen again. Good flying man. If your not crashing, your not flying :)

  • You gotta take it easy with these vintage "design" TT models. You must be flying an align trex by now. Stay Safe Keep Simmin.

  • boom strike

  • and this folks is why no one flies TT anymore, cause they suck.

  • Ahhh, the old Raptor boom strike!!

  • This video is so funny. "Fly that tomrrow there john" "Little stress to the heilicoptor"

  • "you'll be doing tic-toc's tomorrow" :) loved that-who needs enemies if he's got friends like that :)

  • gutted. time to upgrade mate

  • would have been nice with high speed shots

  • That guy is probably going to burt out crying once he runs out of jokes.

  • look it stil spins WTF that devenetly sucs but your stunt didnt work out ass planned was there a plan

  • @7249xxl Yeah, don't try it again! hehe

  • @tivopro Hey did you guys figure out why it blew up? I just bought a 200 dollar one and I don't want it to get beat up too much

  • No profane language? I would have probably thrown a fit. I am quite impressed.

  • hoola hoola hoop :)

  • Dannggg.... this vid is old news now but that still sucks man. How many flights did you have on those dampners?

  • well preventive maintenance is all i can say

  • Sorry dudes but I just love it @.29secs when the pair of you say oooooohhhhh!!!!!! in near perfect unison . Good flying, great sense of humour. The only way to be. WALKERA52 heli's are a lot cheaper to replace!!!!!!!

  • 0:49 hee, it's still turning, maybe it will fly :) nice crash

  • there is no explosion here, seems like the main rotor hit the tail bum

  • 0:29

  • Nice bounce......

  • I want to change from cars to heli or plane what would you recomend heli or plane?

  • E-sky Honey-bee FP or E-sky Honey-bee CP are good to start out on.

  • @elsalamemelame

    EasyStar. Seriously.

  • DON"T DO THAT full scales won"t do it why should you ???

  • @stealhty1

    Because they can.

Guess they are better than real ones, huh?

  • yep...this is why i stick to simple coaxials :D

  • @neluz6 and they are so 3D also....

  • @tunfalk

coaxials cant fly 3d? show me how i fly my lama v4 inverted -.-"

  • @neluz6 couldn't you see the irony in that, what i meant is that co-ax is so simple that it is boring eheee

  • I think it was because you had too much voltage in the batteries and they exploded.

  • i have got the same

  • Duct Tape....?

  • its garbage now its bent

  • Damn! That is a serious crash! :-((

  • That should buff right out!

  • that's unrepairable.. :/

  • @S95Will

nope alot of parts are available

ITS AN TRUE MODEL OF THE FULL SIZE

  • looked like a boom strike

soft head setup or wood and plastic head and rotor components are very likely to boom strike in 3d manouvers,

looked like wood blades and composit grips, hard to tell

anyways nice flying, shame about the boom strike

  • Real good flying before it destructed.

  • wow ok i crash my 4g3 and the cost to fix is like $20 that must of cost so much like 250 maybe more. the pilot is the man for keeping his cool how do you do it

  • @ williamfoubert - Once you've crash assessed, you have to laugh about it and take it on the chin no matter how painful it is.

In my time of flying helis, I've seen people, get angry, cry, throw their helis away and quit. All because of little patience and not being able to learn effectively from what happened.

It may hurt your wallet, but you go into this hobby knowing it may cripple the finances from time to time, and you prepare for it when it happens. It's the only way to cope.

  • new paint job and she'll be as good as new! owch that had to be a bugger! bad luck dude

  • I think that when he was doing what ever that was he put to much pressure on the blade grips and the engine and they snapped

  • Little duct tape and away you go..

  • whoops,,

got 2 love the way it bouched xD

  • ouch!!!

  • Should use the Metal Blade Grips...

The Plastics ones will flex more while doing 3Ds resulting to Boom Strikes!!!

  • is that some cind of a loose canopy?

  • if you span a real helicopter like what while in flight I bet it would break apart to.

  • fucking HATE tailboom strikes.

  • it looks to me he was trying to do a loopty loop and he overstressed the plane

  • was he really singing a hoola hoop song..... 1 year old

  • Nice bounce :)

  • Oops!!

  • WOW talk about a boom strike,WOW!

  • i think you may of bent your fly bar

  • actually electric helis are actually more dangerous because if you flip into idle up on accident and your holding the head your gonna have instant torque and that would really do some harm. so don't think just because its electric its safer

  • not if you always have throttle hold on then you can switch all of the swithes you want and nothing will happen

  • or if you have a glitch then whats gonna happen?

  • 2.4 ghz dont have glitches :)

  • nice flying...

    Raptor The Boomstrike Machine.

    I gave up on mine.

  • i still think your just jealous.

  • Just like the real thing.

An R22 will do this if you pull negative g.

Exact same self dis-assembly in mid air!!

  • tru tru

  • that will buff out

  • żal LOL !!!!

  • wow!

    what happend there?

  • Sad to see ..... but at least you keep a healthy attitude towards it at the end - hat's off to ya!

  • Use radix blades bud..

  • A "little stress" bullshit, a LOT OF STRESS

  • Boom strike !!!!!

  • omfg wut happend

  • They weren't?

  • LOL, nice

  • would you still need the front chassis

  • when replacing the broken parts invest in a set of invfinavation dampers.. I notice that he runs a titan50 same as mine, even the red dampers are to soft for 3d with 620mm main blades. The infinavations give lovely crisp response and are the ultimate for tightening up a head!!

Crashing sucks but at least you have learned something from it...

Get it rebuilt and going again!!

    Good luck mate

  • I think the blades hit the tailboom hapend to me on a hard landing

  • You think?

  • Ouch!

  • hmm.. what exactly caused that crash?

    Mechanical failure?

  • old worn out dampers in the blade grips allowed the blades to flex enough to strike the tailboom. The upside down tic-tocs was enough force to flex the blades to hit the tailboom plus the rapter head design makes it possible for that to occur as well.

  • I wonder how many G:s there is for doing rough acrobatics..

It probably could be measured pretty easy by putting some sensor to the place where pilot usually sits..

Just wondering that would happen to a tiny human flying inside a heli made of superlight and superstrength materials, with a 50 000 horsepower under him :D

When I had RC cars, I calculated the Kyosho Inferno Rally versions power in scale.

1,5hp motor, about 1,5kg, so about 1hp / per Kg. That's 850hp converted to real size Subaru

  • shit. i just got new dampers for my Beam, because the existing o-rings weren't doing very well. now i'm using cylindrical ones but it's just as floppy as before. and i've had a boomstrike before, wasn't quite sure what it was but my theory was that i had a mast bump, link snapped, blade hit boom. or maybe the blade just hit the boom and snapped the link. I have a raptor as well...nothing fancy on it though. do you mean the design as far as flybar over rotors vs under?

  • luks like u got a boom strike, happens when your dampers in the head are worn or are to soft n the blades stress so much it hits the tail. nice flying though lol

  • suck, nice vid

  • IMPRESSIVE! That has got to be the most damaged tail boom I have ever seen without it being cleaved in two!

Crashing sucks, but "If you're going to be a bear...BE A GRIZZLY!!" Spectacular heli-death.

  • Thanks for the comment. I was lucky to catch such an incident as I was off and on filming and flying as well. We actually had to go back after collecting the pieces and find the belt because it was missing. We were concerned it could be on the runway and get sucked into aircraft prop. Sure enough it was right in the middle of the runway.

  • I feel sorry for the guy. Would not want this happen to me. But looks like he can take it with humor.

  • 1 week after this happened, he was out flying it again without any problem!

We've learned to take crashes as they happen and don't let them hinder our ability to advance. If you have multiple helis then never quit after a crash, fire the other one up and shake it off.

  • What a crash... Good Vid

  • Thanks! Just goes to show it happens, its sorta nice to have two of everything that way you always have a back-up.

  • the cheapest thing he can do is to buy a new one..

  • He'll have to buy a new frame is all. He nearly has a hobby shop in his garage. :)

  • Haha, I see :P

  • OW!

  • Cool wreck!! Good video!!

  • Sorry I lost sight of it for a sec. I heard the pop and wanted to make sure it wasn't coming at me.., you know! I crashed my Hawk Sport same location 2 days ago.
