1st step, educate the people on how their political system actually works.

2nd step, reform the whole system, criminalize lobbying for policy making.

3rd step, get rid of privatization of prisons (Originally banning cannabis was motivated by cotton farmers who didn't want to compete against hemp, today it's about prisons meeting their quotas). Getting rid of the private prison system would solve so much misery.

In fact all essential services should be government controlled!
