The FACT that Phil Graham was behind legislation that deregulated the banking system and ultimately allowed banks to pack on all those worthless mortgages into "investment securities," and the FACT that McCain is one of the driving forces behind deregulation of finance is just too complicated for the ordinary swing voter to understand.

Like other vapid Republican talking heads, he talks about "not pointing fingers" while blaming the "Democratic Congress," when in fact anybody who knows the first thing about it (and Cantor certainly does) knows that without the supermajority in the Senate to override a veto, Dems can't get any meaningful legislation through that would really make a difference.
