And in 2011 Gearbox software is finishing development of Duke Nukem Forever, seeing as how the 3D Realms team got laid off by Take 2. But the important thing is that it's finally coming. For real. Gearbox knows what they're doing and are well funded, plus most of the work was done already, it justs needs some final polishing before it gets shipped out to stores. I can't wait. I just hope its release date is in Quarter 1 and not later.

@nicochunger No it was not. The Duke Nukem Theme was written by Lee Jackson in 1996. Megadeth didnt do their COVER of the theme until 1998.

This reminds me so much of being little with my brothers during christmas time on school break playing the n64 when it was new and not being able to go anywher because it was snowing and so we just stayed home and had a lot of fun playing duke nukem 3d

Duke isnt going. 3D Realms is currently in talks with various development studios to continue work on DNF. Apogee LCC is going to be putting out three Duke games over the next few years. There are still some fluttering talks about a Duke movie, currently being written by Scott Faye. The Duke Nukem 3D community is still hard at work updating and creating mods for the game.
