this is stupid as hell. why *record* crappy low-res video when you can download the file instead? screen recordings suck.. aspect ratio is never the same, there can be lost frames, it records interlaced frames that can never be deinterlacted, audio can be slightly off... plus it takes forever to encode and the file can be huge. i'd rather get me a copy of the DVD.
This is the cheesiest way to record a streaming video on the internet...
Unless i hacked into someones NetFlix account....Why would i want to record a Netflix movie and fill up my Hard drive when the movie is stored at high Quality in my Netflix Account anyway, in which i can watch it over and over again?
@Fatboook Depends on your use. For me I make music videos and I sometimes use rare and hard to find movies. Netflix has a lot of those that are only available on instant play. I may want to rip parts for a project (I do very specific projects) and the only way would be to record it. I know it's not something a lot of members do so the would just watch it there as you said. So for vidders or collectors it's useful.
Was watching Xena on Netflix using a friends account and I just had the thought of having access to the video at all times. Did a bit of googling and ended up here, just to find you recording the same series!!
wow you guys are hardcore! the background is some toshiba thing it changes every few hours, i really don't know what it is. but i'm sorry you had trouble with it. i know on xp it's perfect and some people have audio issues on 7 - i did too, so i just plugged my headphone jack into the speaker jack (stereo cable only - not mono). yeah, i could never tell if my frame rate issue was any worse than netflix itself. i appreciate you guys checking it out.
Not high enough frame rate. Netflix does not stay full screen when switching to recorder. Audio not in sync with video. All in all, shitty software that doesn't do what it promises. Run on dual core 2GHz with dedicated 256MB video, windows 7 ultimate, 64 bit.
It still gives frameskip and uneven jitter. I have a 13ghz (not 1.3ghz) Win7 64-bit AMD dual processor and this utility doesn't encode Netflix Instant Watch flawlessly. I'm looking for a perfect one that encodes 29.97fps 1024x768x32. If you have details regarding this, please let me know ! :)
Scared to do this.. the FBI is watching. Cookies are sent out after you record stuff, and NF knows. So do all the movie companies. Cookies are sent out to them that alert them when you rip their DVDs or record from their service. It's the internet man, people know things. And everybody is being watched.
@sphinxlegend Well you are out of line. I read from hooty trying to figure out what the static was about. Recording the screen? You're serious? If you point a video camera at the screen you're recording the screen. The cookie myth was more than a myth too. SONY WAS doing that about the time that the RIAA was also big news. And you're recording a stream over your IP, not your screen. Nobody lied. Hooty just said what they were scared of. That's confusion, not a lie. Mello out bro.
YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW FUCKING IRONIC THIS IS! I JUST GOT NETFLIX TODAY AND WANTED TO LEARN HOW I COULD RECORD XENA TO PUT IT ON DVD AND I CAME HERE AND YOU'RE FUCKING RECORDING XENA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
