sad to lose such a great plane the worst crash i have seen at Oshkosh yet and then this year a float plane crashes with engine problems and kills two shame to lose many good pilots
is sad to loose two of the most wonderfull warbird that ever exist in a split second ,yet is more sad when a human life is lost in that split second when this accident happen ,my prays to the family of the pilot who perish
Gerry will never be replaced! By the way his 'A' is very close to completion. If things go according to plans you may see more 'A's out there very soon. The 3rd Annual Beck Memorial Fly-in is this weekend in Battle Lake MN.
i live here i was watching it and it was insane but i get to watch the airshow every year. like a couple years ago they had a b-52 stealth bomber fly right over us
i was eating a brat and i saw a big poof of smoke....the one plane was flipped upside down because of the propeller hit the horizontal stabilizer and flipped it.
I was standing under a wing in the rain talking to the English fellow for about a half hour that day before that happened. I wasn't there that Friday. It was one of only two days I wasn't there that year.

We left Oshkosh a couple hours before this happened. I'm glad we missed it. My condolences to the family and friends. Gerry Beck's passing is a great loss to the warbird world. He restored many of those pretty warbirds you see at Oshkosh.

I hate to hear about these accidents. :( While it sucks to lose yet another war bird, it sucks more to lose a life that can never be repalced.

I think Walt needs a lesson on WWII planes: WWII planes have no ejection seats
Jace981 2 years ago
no they done but there canopy ejects off so they can jump
NIGHTEHAWK 2 years ago
The guy "ejected his canopy'?
Uhmmmm...yeah...right on there.
pulsejet1 2 years ago
ya he did eject it, the WWII planes could eject the canopy so tat the pilot could get out
