I just figured get one of every machine and you will have the right machine for the job. I have a bout 30 or so. That needle threader looks great. I need to get one. These new plastic machines are OK but I like my cast iron bullet proof ones.
Ah I was watching and interested till you got to the Elna. I had a different brand but the same bobbin loading mechanism. I craft sew and that bobbin cosigning popped out and wrecked the machine. Good thing it was on warranty. I am looking for a new machine as I have a 38 year old Dial n Sew. It's a beast that has never quit. I am not sure what I am looking for.
All of hers are excellent descriptions and good detail. Wish there were more, because she is a great on-going resource. Perhaps, going on with even more specific uses if the various sewing machines and up-dating as new Baby Lock/Elna machines come out. JanHelene
I have a sewing Machine (brother) but my son took the babbin door now the Machine is not working !! the silly thing is I have to replace a 400$ sewing Machine just becuase I lost 1$ peace of plastik
@rockinbillyboy I had a similar fault; it may be that the condensor in the machine is about to break. Replace it with a similar condensor, should be available with Radio Shack or similar parts service--I paid 60cts.
do u no if theirs a sewing machine that can MAKE dolls clothes so it can actually fit into a bratz dolls head? i no weird but i need 1 bad. oh and yah 4 costumes and etc u no reguler clothes 4 dolls and stuff and easy 2 use. i no itll b expensive i just need a recommendation lol
@10bratzfan these machines can do almost anything. machines i would recommend the elna she has shown or the babylock crafter choice. they are a bit expensive but it's spending that much for a quality machine or get a nice brother sewing machine. (hope it's not too late)
Hi just wanna ask question from you though the machine I use is not same as you are using. In my case, I just borrowed this machine from my mother-in-law last night, my problem is that the machine doesn't hold the thread everytime I pull up the thread on the bobbin well. Aside from that when I ever pull the thread inside up and start sewing it didn't work.
Probably you are threading it wrong. A manual for your machine can probably be found online, hopefully for free. Or contact the manufacturer of the machine. Then thread the machine according to the diagram. Good luck!
The stitches is not working and the thread inside the niddle will just cut off. do you have any idea what's the best thing to do to start sewing? thnx. I enjoy your video alot.
We have a machine amd no clue on how to use it. This video made me feel less intimidated by the sewing machine. She explains everything with such ease now I want to find more of her youtube sewing classes.
neat. i have a 10 yr old machine. and i never knew about the needle threaders, or the auto bobbin stuff or the needle down (still can't figure out how that works!)
I enjoyed the video, but I just have to chuckle a bit. The drop in bobbin technology goes back at least to 1900 when Singer introduced the 66, and the bobbin case mechanism on the basic machine is almost identical to the 15 which began around 1880. Funny how things don't change. :)
Yeah, i thought people stopped making the drop bobbin. I loved my old Singer Redeye just because of the drop bobbin. I hate messing with the case bobbins. (still got the Redeye and it still runs but I think I need to oil it sometime since it sat idle for a while)
very nice video thank you for the demonstrations on different kinds of machines.

Can you help me?...or anyone for that matter!
I have aquired an old Husqvarna Viking 3240 (old, but good)
The problem i have is, when i plug the machine in, after about 10 seconds it starts to run on it's own!! slowly at first, and then to full speed!!
I have checked the foot switch and it seems to be ok.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Useful advice, this lady seems to really know her stuff. The best reason to buy from a store if you're a beginner, not Wal-Mart!
