I coud eulogise about the musicianship, wax lyrical on the sublime harmonies, expound theories on the musics longevity and timeless appeal. When all I really want to say is "I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG".................
I heard this while cruising tonight and it put me into the mood to park by the lake and just take in the summer night. (high school memories by the lake)
First heard this song in 75 while living with a bunch of miscreants in Rosedale (we didn't exactly fit in, since there were 5 adults and 1 husky and we had parties for 2-300 people in our 5 bedroom house about once per month. It was quite amazing how we squeezed the bodies in......this album was one of our faves at the time. I still cry every time it gets to the final verse.
This song has the west-coast feel to it which BJH didn't like, but it's a great track. My preference is the version on Live Tapes with the lengthy guitar piece at the end - must have listened to it hundreds of times! Thanks BJH.
One of my favourite tracks from BJH. It's such a crime they never really got the recognision they greatly deserved. They made some fantastic music in the 70's

Such a great song! To me it's always been sad and melancholy. Although I've never cared for James Taylor, I can always imagine him singing this song.

One of the best songs of BJH. They would have deserved much more fame all around the world. Here in Italy they are practically unknown.

@cwn7 - I have been saying the same thing on youtube for ages. Talk about being betrayed by your own country.

I love all of the album but it´s surely good for crying after a long lost love or something. But nevermind, it´s beautiful.
