I know nas is older now and his mind-set is different but please, before he gets any older we need him to give us one last album like illmatic or it was written. If we all get together and let him know we want it we can get it. Twitter, Facebook, something. Just let him know!
The second verse made my head spin... and the third melted my brain. "It justifies, Nas Escobar's leavin shit mesmerized, mega live like the third world"
LstAlph dont know shit Nas made one real album? have you heard it was written or Stillmatic? The Lost tapes? this song alone is better than some tracks on Illmatic and Life after death is great so Wtf are you talkin about?

Its all music, if it is a liking to your ears, then its a liking to your ears. classic hip hop, new hip hop. All the same thing. Just another era of hip hop running through our lives, enjoy what you want.
NAS Is A Fucking Genius With This Song The Part I Like Is When He Said "Hey Me No Worry Hashes Keep My Eyes Chinese Roll To Philles Together Make Blunt Siamese" And The Beats Fucking Dangerous This Guy Will Always Remain Top 5 No Doubt
Fuckin nasty!! Yo I'm 16 and Hispanic and I know my fuckin Hip Hop knowledge. Fuck this new rap, it's not even about the music nowadays, it's just the corporate side of the business takin over smh that's why I stick to my old CDs and tapes for real Hip Hop and only mainstream rapper doin his thing is Eminem! It may seem like Em sold out but his lyrics are still intense and that balances out, not like that faggot wayne
@75lord I'm from LA but I now reside in charlotte, north carolina lol ppl here don't know Hip Hop they're all into the southern trap garbage smh I stick to east coast and some west coast Hip Hop
@Aerosol95 LOL!!! Yo man, I feel you for real. I stick to my old stuff & there is still some damn good underground hiphop out there. Only thing I can't agree with is the Em comment. His lyrics are tight, yes, but he singing too damn much, his music starting to sound really mainstreamy (beats & shit) & not as HARD CORE as before, his delivery is shitty compared to the "slim shady LP" and "Marshal Mathers". compare these on Youtube & see my point:
If someone don't know, both of them released only one real album. "Illmatic" and "Ready to die". All albums, released after these masterpieces, weren't make impression.
You must be a fucking fanatic or dumb teen to think that there is "A BEST RAPPAAR IN THA WUURLD".
There is no best rapper in a whole fucking world. If you don't think so, tell me, what science determines best rapper and how it's going on? Sells not doin this shit - the rule of 95/5 still working.
@LstAlph i dont get u r u sayin both of em havent made a classic album since or u saying hip hop in general havent had an impressive album since b/c i really disagree in both ways
@LstAlph k so in ur first comment sed illmatic and ready 2 die was their only real albums they made but thats not true they had gr8 albums after their first
@LstAlph this album is fucking real and is the most underrated album i have ever heard in my life. You don't know shit. Also Tupac was "the best" because his shit was rapped from the heart. You don't rap about bitches, you rap about the world and that's why illmatic was great. Story telling is Nas cause it raps the truth, Tupac rapped the truth and started movements. Biggie>Nas, Biggie started a East coast movement. Get your shit straight. Music that starts a movement has to be deep.
@xxomicronxx What movement did Biggie start? I mean if you actually look, Biggie has never really made any real song other than about his own life. East coast rap started Hip Hop way before Biggie came onto the scene. From the 70's, Did you forget people like Rakim, KRS One, MC Shan, Wu Tang, A Tribe Called Quest, etc...? Maybe you should get your shit straight.
@LstAlph jay electronica is defiently the best rapper in world. and you ask what makes a best a rapper. ill tell you jay elect is the best for the simple fact he can cover any aspect on any level.
@LstAlph If It Was Written doesn't make an impression why did you come to a track from it? Lyrically, Nas was just as good if not better on this album. I'm not going to debate the greatest rapper comment, but Nas definitely has more than one "impressionable" album. In fact, this album is the one that Lupe Fiasco credits with increasing his interest in rap. Can say what you want about Lupe, but this cd inspired a lot of rappers.
nas=best rapper ALIVE...fuck that punk pussy lil wayne wit his bubble bum raps...wayne aint the best rapper alive...nas is the best rapper left that's alive...top 3 was pac, nas and BIG & since big and pac dead that makes nas the best ALIVE!
ITs funny...nas is so underrated yet everyone damn well knows NOBODY alive can fuckin touch him..i dont care what anyone says fuck lil wayne NAS IS THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE
this iz my shit right here suspect witness don't come outside. my homie nas in this joint iz the realest of the industry of music. he had gone through a lot when he wuz in the queensbridge housing projects Q.B.
Nas was on a whole different swagger on this album than the other ones. He was coming up and his new found confidence could be shown. His flow and rhyming, lyrical game were nasty during his escobar days.
I think some Redneck guy came into this video and either called Nas a "useless N.....", or "fucking N..... music. Or something like that. I didn't like what he wrote, nor do I like his type of people. So i responded to his post and blocked him.
this song is real cool when you listen to it while its raining.somethin about the dark clouds and the tune mesmerize the brain..yall should try..try to concentrate deep on the beat and you'll see
@blackcapone187 Good post. This album and The Lost Tapes work real good as "night" albums. This album in particular plays real well after midnight on a highway somewhere, or when it's raining, like you said.
@BxDueceDueceKilla Let's reconsider that for a moment.... Nas a ILL nigga no doubt top 5 dead or alive... But Biggie!!!! No.1 go listen to some tracks then come back... Im not knocking Nas though....
Tupac will always be the greatest of all time for me. he just went to hard, he's got the top spot on lock. but as far as the illest with the mic, yeah, nobody beats Nas. his way with words is just mind blowing.
early natives that were captured and taught to think backwards......Crazy nice...Nas once said he was a slave to Columbia his record label and his image and change in direction on his second album was probbly a result of that but he so on another level that he slips that conscious shit in there now and then even if hes on the commercial shit
@soljaboyisabitch The joint with Damien Marley was pretty good, even though I think we all want a break from the political stuff. Untitled was dope. Hip-Hop is Dead was awful. Streets Disciple was...well, I liked a lot of it, but some of those beats were weak. Let's be honest: he's really been inconsistent since Stillmatic. (I'm not counting The Lost Tapes, and God's Son had a great remix album by 9th Wonder.)
@spideymayne Yo you wasn't feelin hip hop is dead? That shit was bangin. Yea he's on the political tip alot now but you have to realize where he's at in this stage of his life. He's not that 20 year old kid on the block anymore so he's not gonna be rappin about that type of shit. He's a millionaire now, he's seen the world, been to Africa, seen the plight of people over there so he chooses to use his talents to uplift people more so now. That's why his stuff now is mostly positive.
@Antrizzle2009 Don't get me wrong: I like his political songs a lot. Hip Hop is Dead's biggest problem is the production. I'm sure if a good producer got hold of the a capellas and remixed it, you'd get something similar to God's Stepson, which was a big improvement over God's Son. Nas is too good a rapper to be wasting great performances over bad production, especially when you have these -terrible- rappers today getting top-notch beats.
@spideymayne I feel you on that. Unfortunately as a Nas fan, it's something I've had to deal with his entire career. As great an emcee as he is, he does not have an ear for beats. Just imagine if he had gotten Jay's beats his whole career. But lyrically, HHID is that joint. I think Nas chooses not so great beats so they don't overpower his lyrics, therefore you spend the whole time focusing on him where as alot of guys you're too busy bobbing your head to realize what they're saying feel me?
he samples "el gato triste" by chuck mangione on this one. massively underrated album. if this had been his first, it wud have the same aura as illmatic now...
it was written is arguably better than illmatic. it really depend wat mood ur in. if u jus sittin back this is the best. also wen u blastin at nite in the city. illmatic is his best but i ussually listen to this album more now. well not rlly but i love both of em. nas the best son.
@Marqu3z1217 Song is heat! You are right, he had a streak of like 8 albums that went plat in a row (Studio), truly amazing being he is not overly commercial. He has a few double platinum albums as a matter of fact.
@BUCKDOWNZ Yeah shits crazy, just imagine dude jumpin out and sayin wadup but at the same time havin his heart sink seein the dead body right away haha Esco's on some other shit
it was written is probably one of my favorite albums by nas plus illmatic. im a fan of most of his work but i think it was written and illmatic are my personal favorites
@DaClassicz ILL hiphop at its finest..Had this joint in my head & youtubed it..Thank god 4 youtube & dudes like u who let me relive the BEST era of hiphop..Thank u
@natehxc89 cats was hatin because they felt like Nas sold out. But to me i'm listening to lyricism, metaphors, real shit and multis. don't matter if he went from gritty demo to some (part of the album) polished mafia don type shit. There's still some real gutta shit on here like this joint.
greatest lyrical flow of all time...he is the best to ever pick up a mic...but as far as a straight rappin ass dude, a man that can just rap his ass off...ghostface killah!!
his mom had a stare i wouldnt dare a second look when i merk it hurt kinda took as a breif reminders that the streets are design to stop you life the beast will time you
im from cali & still think nas and biggie r yhe best 2 rappers of all time!

I think Nas chooses not so great beats so they don't overpower his lyrics, therefore you spend the whole time focusing on him where as alot of guys you're too busy bobbing your head to realize what they're saying feel me?

@natehxc89 cats was hatin because they felt like Nas sold out. But to me i'm listening to lyricism, metaphors, real shit and multis. don't matter if he went from gritty demo to some (part of the album) polished mafia don type shit. There's still some real gutta shit on here like this joint.
TheEsquire212 10 months ago 3
@natehxc89 definitely. real real album though
