  • This is what good music sounds like

  • I gave up for a long time good music was not possible anymore until i heard this.

  • What's MySpace???

  • did he look for andy's approval at 2:49

  • @Greg2162 I believed he looked at him for the cue to start the next line.

  • Second guitarist when he sings reminds me of a young Jamie Lenman from Reuben...

  • if this band broke up i will my life would mean nothing to evrything.

  • @shootingrock I've seen them live. They were amazing, and I didn't know any of their songs. I don't know wtf you mean by no stage presence.

  • @TheLibertybellz I've heard that there are shows where members of the band are too drunk to play up to their normal standards. Obviously that takes away from the stage presence.

  • So how many people noticed that the lead guitarist*name escapes me at the moment* is NOT playing a Les Paul?

  • goin hard on some drums! fucking love these dudes

  • Geez what are those like 30" rides lol

  • 2 drummers. thats whatsup

  • Manchester is one of my favorite bands, and has been for a while. But Chris barely does anything in this band. It seems like one of those cases when you start a band with your buddies and you have that one close friend who just isn't really good or as good at an instrument so you give him the whole keys/percussion/back up vocals position...

  • @samsamuels19 are you dumb?

  • great fucking song and phenomenal drummer

  • two drummers?

  • Blurd working the laptop like a pro

  • this is well gay

  • Comment removed

  • guitarist looks like he came right from the show, swamp people. haha

  • wow

  • and the drummer thinks to him self "i wonder why my drum sets keep exploding?" un-real band tho

  • I see conversation about imperfection. It doesn't matter. They capture a sound an emotion and a massive sound in their performances. If I basically want perfection, I'll listen to the record. Fantastic performance. Watch "The River" right after. It's ridiculous.

  • i dont normally do comments like this, but 1 person means nothing to everything.

  • @cjgarza89 actually there are 2, as holl

  • @KikeSzG i posted that 5 months ago bro. lol

  • @cjgarza89 wtf?! i never wrote that... someone hacked me D: lol

  • I want his beard.

    So. Badly.

  • this is even better than the album version

  • omg so good

  • is it weird that they remind me of bon iver?

  • god talk about drummers havin 3 rides

  • new favorite song.

  • I watch this video everyday, million times better than the album version!

  • DAMN STRAIGHT ZERO DISLIKES.

  • I love Myspace Transmissions so much. This sounds beautiful.

  • i'm 99% sure the lead guitarist does drugs.

i'm 100% sure this band is amazing.

  • @linkinzoolander how can you make that assumption?

  • No one dislikes this song... heh heh heh

  • Haha there is no quiet way to play the drums but the parents must have regretted it when they bought that drummer his first drum kit! He really goes for it.

  • i wish all music was recorded with sound like this. the voices are slightly out, the guitars have got that 'live' bite, the drums are crushing. love it. long live imperfection.

  • reminds me of jimmy eat world. good stuff here

  • 2:49

    haha

best band producing music right now. atleast in my opinion.

  • 10x better than the studio version.. just awesome

  • Comment removed

  • FUCKING GENIUS. I dream about their live performances on a daily basis.

  • @OhHiShan their live shows are ok, music isnt bad, but only cause imperfection is kinda there thing and stage presence sucks, but whatever. still fun

  • @shootingrock The imperfection is what makes manchester great. This band is so natural and real, unlike so many groups these days that autotune the crap out of their voices and even pitch correct their instruments. Not to mention that Andy Hull is an incredible songwriter as is.

  • @guitarharvey1255 Andy Hull, great lyricist. I agree with you, the imperfection is what makes them human and real.

  • love the drummer ...great energy .....

  • The guy playing the les paul has an amazing voice.

  • they sound perfect

  • 3:11 Nothing more must be said.

  • The rhythm guitarist with the stash looks sketchy

  • @TheSickestScene reminds me of pedro from napoleon dynamite haha

  • I wonder....Do they use a click track?

  • are these the only songs they played here?

  • @rockerMan0987 yessir

  • I think the drummer is the only 1 who drinks redbull ..

  • what kind of cymbals are those?

  • by far one on the best bands out there. Epic songwriting, tight live show and shit hot albums.

  • Comment removed

  • Ethan Hawke on drums.

  • one more thing, are these guys tuning in E flat, then drop D (i.e. D flat) for this song?

  • @herbology1 I believe so

  • what amps do these dudes use? they've got a great sound

  • Dude, I love the riffs in this song

    actually all of them, period.

  • gotta love the drummer's energy

  • @oOEstefOo He's really great live. Sadly, he split from the band to head the band's record label.

  • @havoknuk REALLY?!....oh god...-______________-

  • hot 12 string

  • gotta love this band

  • you mean everything

i don't know much but a crutch is a crutch

if its holding you from moving on yeahhhhhh

  • MO is the stuff. i do some acoustic sets where i'm from and i always cover "the river". and it kills because it's so amazingly powerful.

  • Damn it's gonna be weird seeing them without Jeremiah in Atlanta this week. He's so fucking fun to watch.

  • he sounds great live. love his voice. ughh i wanna go to one of their upcomming shows but they always play on wednesdays?

  • i am really trying to see them april 3rd at the trop in philly...they are currently my fav band...1st heard the song i've got friends and i loved it and every song from them after that

  • @imdan1182 yea i just bought my ticket for the troc really exited

  • me tooooo

  • @imdan1182 are you seeing them with thrice?

  • Manchester changed my life =D

  • they sound kinda like explosions in the sky with lyrics (that's a good thing).

  • I'm seeing 'em live in KC this Friday - Look'n forward to it!

  • drummer is good

  • yea how sick is he, i just watch him the entire time....not sure why they need the other guy playing with him i guess it looks cool

  • Comment removed

  • mainly for rythm, the other guy is mostly uses the synthesizers tho.

  • @chprimavera

It's used as a filler. They do it to keep him from playing louder then necessary in the softer parts (compensation). It also helps out in recording because it allows the drums to sound more full in their tone, instead of sounding like they are off in the distance or on one side of the room and just projecting.

This method is sometimes used to keep down the digitized effects that would be needed to render the correct sound. It allows them to sound similar recorded and live.

  • the drummer is sick. anyone know what kind of ride he has?

  • Paiste 2000, 22" inch. I've seen them live, the ride fills up the whole stadium its so full and sharp.

  • this band make me cry, in a good way!

  • this band blows my fucking socks off.....

  • I love it at 2:40 when Robert, the guitarist, starts singing and then looks at Andy in a certain way as if he was saying, "You ready?"

  • discovered this lot a week or so back, they're now already one of my most played bands :D

  • fuck me! i heard about this band yesterday, and i was blown away. im into stuff like biffy clyro, and it would seem this stuff, the albums amazing :O:O:O

  • Shit that drummer hits hard.

  • yeaah he does.. but nobody hits the drums as hard as PATRICK CARNEY from the black keys!!!!!! the dude is sick!!!... by the way they are both awesome bands.

  • I know he was like the best drummer ever. But he quit manchester orchestra :(

  • @Brandnewfan947 yea, saw them live the other day at the house of blues...different drummer, but he sure fills his shoes pretty well.

  • @grantyshmanty he used to play in Cool Hand Luke (early norma jean)

  • @grantyshmanty no kidding, almost busted my ear drums live lol

  • @coca38 fackin hipsters

  • @coca38 sketchy? yea seems like a strange line up, but it works

  • @coca38 hahahaha I so agree.

  • Comment removed

  • the bassist makes me uncomfortable. when they play live he looks exactly like this. he looks pissed while the rest of the band is rocking out.

  • i agree

  • yea he always looks depressed lol i met him once and said to him use were amazing and he said thanks man in a happy voice, so maybe its just wen hes onstage lol

  • the reason they sound so good is because the guy has a tamberine on his hit hat

  • hit hat?

  • i want his hi-hats they sound great

  • why does the lead guitarist have a black eye???

  • Anyone know the Drummers Cymbals cause they sound great. AMAZING band

  • They are Paiste cymbals. Big sizes, most probably Signature Traditionals.
