What I find funny about this footage is that it's a Holden developed prototype. How can I tell? Holden were the ones that did most of the R&D on the Camaro project. The SS is the top of the line right now, no Z28s have even been made yet (yet, i firmly believe they will be) and i doubt they would have an LS3 either, i would personally hope for the LS 427 engine, pushing 505hp on all motor (which im sure they could bump up a few notches with a little tinkering) im a much bigger fan of all motor cars, id preffer GM to take down the supercharged GT500 with an all motor car, supercharging is a cheap way out in my oppinion
yeah thats the LSA specs, the engine thats rumored to go in it, i personally dont like the idea of putting the LSA in a Z28, cause the LSA is a supercharged LS3, the LS9 is alsoa supercharged LS3 but it gets 638hp and has forged internals, also the LS7 is a non-supercharged 427 with 505hp (which could be easily bumped to 600 with a cam and heads swap) it also has forged internals, and thats what i think should go in, the LS7, but i say if you're gonna supercharge an LS3 dont half-ass it ya know?
yeah, ive always supported the LS7 in the Z28, it also has forged internals as well, so the only one of the three built with cheaper parts is the LSA, so thats another reason id rather see the LS7, for a while everyone was all about the LSA but now im starting to see a lotta people come around to the LS7 again, there's just somethin special about the 427, plus having an all motor car on par with the supercharged Shelby, thats just awsome haha

judging by the fact that the 6.2 ls3 corvettes get 30 Mpg on the highway, i dont think this camaro which will have similar gearing will get any less then 26+ mpg.
the ss has two different engines. the l99 puts out 400 hp and has cylinder deactivation which comes with an auto trans. The manual comes with the ls3 that puts out 426 hp and no cylinder deactivation
my suburbans 8.1 liter has that cylinder shit, its such a pile of garbage, the whole truck will shake when idling and its like that even after you put gas in it for atleast 3 min
2001, its not really to conserve gas, what it does is cut off cylinders when its low on fuel, but the stupid thing has left me stranded once completely empty and with barely enough power to pull off the road, its a horrible option. My burb gets the mileage more or less
my 07 Suburban has the same cylinder shut off as well and it works quite good, only see it come on when I'm coasting on the highway which gets me about 22 mpg highway. Not to bad for a truck this big that fits my entiry family in comfort

Dude, American cars are fine now, they are far more reliable then they used to be, the only reason they started sucking for a while was because EPA and the UAW raped them at the same time. But they are definately catching up and rocketing forward. They pretty much outperform all foreign cars in performance, except the lotus elise, (I practically pop wood when I see one) But look at cars like the Pontiac G8 and such. Great reliability, awesome gas mileage for the performance.
I know, after the hippies shut the hell up American cars have really come forward. There are a lot of good American cars coming, but you need to remember that the rest of the world is coming up with good cars as well. The Aston Martin V12 Vantage is just around the corner. Pagani are coming up with a replacement for the Zonda, just check out the Geneva Motor Show, you'll see what I mean.

welll the camaro is a nice ass car no doubt but the gt500 still has more horses it's stock 514 and better to look at but there's going to be a 550hp camaro so yeah the gt500 wll have competition but Ford also upped the hp on the 500 up to 540hp.and lets not forget the torque;) but chevy did very well with the camaro and i'm actually trying to buy one

The Camaro is two door G8. I'm debating to pickup either one. There are still a few G8's on a few lots. The Camaro is going to be hard to get. I at least wanted to test-drive one before spending thousands of dollars - I was told not a chance.

Ya but that recall is nothing. It's a fucking stupid precaution. An ignition wire, sits close to the positive line coming off the battery. I don't see there ever really being an issue, other than induced voltage.

they got the Z28 and SS models backwards. SS will have the LS3 and theZ28 will have the supercharged V8.

Please go watch the videos that compare the Mustang, Camaro and Challenger. The Camaro is the most powerful, has a modern suspension setup, and is the most composed on the road of the 3 cars. This Camaro is the real deal.

judging by the fact that the 6.2 ls3 corvettes get 30 Mpg on the highway, i dont think this camaro which will have similar gearing will get any less then 26+ mpg.

the ss has two different engines. the l99 puts out 400 hp and has cylinder deactivation which comes with an auto trans. The manual comes with the ls3 that puts out 426 hp and no cylinder deactivation

my suburbans 8.1 liter has that cylinder shit, its such a pile of garbage, the whole truck will shake when idling and its like that even after you put gas in it for atleast 3 min

2001, its not really to conserve gas, what it does is cut off cylinders when its low on fuel, but the stupid thing has left me stranded once completely empty and with barely enough power to pull off the road, its a horrible option. My burb gets the mileage more or less

my 07 Suburban has the same cylinder shut off as well and it works quite good, only see it come on when I'm coasting on the highway which gets me about 22 mpg highway. Not to bad for a truck this big that fits my entiry family in comfort

i have an 08 silverado single cab short bed. and i am a giant GM fan but that afm (active fuel managment) is a joke.... i get 14 to 15 miles to the gallon highway or in town. the only time that thing works is when i'm doin around 55 then i get the 22mpg. and my dad's truck is the same. not many ppl do 55 everywhere they go when the speed limit is 70 or 75

Detroit makes a car that is succesfull and then the foreign car companies come in with a less expensive product due to circumventing expensive tarrifs by shipping the parts from overseas and assembling here and using non union workers which american companies are locked into.

2: I have heard not one believeable word on a new Camaro with a supercharger. The Vette ZR-1 is at 630. A Camaro with 600? Not from the factory.
3: Power numbers I HAVE heard are 310 for the v-6 (putting it in the same power category as the Mustang GT), and just over 400 for the v-8. Whether it has z/28 or SS badges, 400 HP is NOTHING TO SNEEZE AT!

comments about US cars sucking. well they do. BUT (and thats a big hearty big bodied BUT) the zr1 makes all those comments redundant. finally a big HP car that actually handles too! and it munches most everything around the nurbergring. the Yanks finally got it right!
anyway i'm pumped, the new camaro is coming to AUSTRALIA wooo.
and 425HP from the SS model , is enough. I'm not complaining! it seems this model is a great handler too unlike the new 'Stang

also you guys g2 understand, back in the late 70's or early eighties, gm made a chevy something i forgot, jay leno's got the last one, a small 4 banger car that got over 60 MPG NA, no electricity. 60 minutes did an interview of why gm was firced to buy the cars back from people for double the price, and the guy came out and said, the goverment forced us to.
its not that gm cant do it, they have to make the best vehicle possible but stay under the radar. honda can make anything, no US control

Dude, American cars are fine now, they are far more reliable then they used to be, the only reason they started sucking for a while was because EPA and the UAW raped them at the same time. But they are definately catching up and rocketing forward. They pretty much outperform all foreign cars in performance, except the lotus elise, (I practically pop wood when I see one) But look at cars like the Pontiac G8 and such. Great reliability, awesome gas mileage for the performance.

I know, after the hippies shut the hell up American cars have really come forward. There are a lot of good American cars coming, but you need to remember that the rest of the world is coming up with good cars as well. The Aston Martin V12 Vantage is just around the corner. Pagani are coming up with a replacement for the Zonda, just check out the Geneva Motor Show, you'll see what I mean.
