I've just finished reading his Biography. Apparently these little recording "sessions" in Sydney (early 80's) putting together Marc's Solo Albums were one big Coke, Smack, and Booze free for all! A lot of hanger on's scoring free "gear" getting wasted beyond belief :S
Good to see Sydney hasn't changed much where they were driving around - Oxford St & Kings Cross. Good song but did not have chart success in Australia.
While filming they must have got called out to, a few times. 3:18 Chick waves out (in time with the music) to passing traffic. Love the tunnel scene. Everyone walking past is interested. Must have been a small crowd - behind the camera? Fantastic!! The chicks both rocked too!! Nice one ladies - wherever you are now!!!!
I forgot about this song - i was 14 when this came out and i loved it then. Thanks for posting it! Incredible voice, great presence, handsome and flamboyant - wouldnt have it any other way. Sad he passed away though such a great talent. Out of curiousity does anyone know for sure if Marc was gay... or as Marc says is that just big city talk? RIP mate!
He looks like a faggot in this video, with his flamboyant looks, but the music is great. Ironically, he called people faggots at one of his concerts in the seventies, which lead to him being fired by Dragon. That said, all of Dragon's albums are superb.
lol, you might want to check out some other 70's Dragon videos and see just how androgynous he looks in those clips (try 'Wait Until Tomorrow', 'This Time')...
I had the great 'pleasure' of walking through that tunnel on my way to work. I watched it come from looking much the way it did in this video, to looking like an art exhibition/shopping mall/busker-wall. Sure, it's more lively now than it was back then, but it still makes me cringe each time I have to walk through it.... I might go the long way next time!
@nzoz1981 I used to walk through the Devonshire Street tunnel on my way to & from Uni (Institute of Technology, now UTS) in the early 1980s. One day heading home after Uni I saw them filming this clip, but I never knew which song it was until looking it up just now ... while listening to my best of Dragon tape. Unfortunately I can't see myself walking past in the film clip - but I was there!
@ewechewed Wow, 30 years later and you've only just found out which song is was that they were making a clip for ? That's amazing! Did you think about walking close to the camera ?
@tonyhic I called it the Broadway Tunnel and walked through it every day to college. There was a busker, a short guy with glasses, who's "act" was drumming. He started with just a bread tin & a wooden spoon - really, really bad - but after a few years he had more drums and his playing was really poly-rhythmic and funky. Amazing!
ha ha, believe me... there are better cities in Australia than Sydney... not saying that Sydney is a dump - far from it... but the attitude is just a joke..
Very true....everytime I am in Sydney...just something dont feel right with the people there...dont seem real to me...maybe its because Im from sleepy old Adelaide where a fly farts we hear about it!!! LOL
I've lived in Sydney all my life and I had always felt there wasn't something right... I know what you're saying. I didn't feel that vibe in Melbourne...
Adelaide should be nationally respected for providing the country with great music!
Aha ..i always knew there was something odd about Sydneysiders, obnoxious, arrogant, self obsessed , delusional ..i think America has moved in between Canberra & Brisbane !
Sydney and it's huge social dysfunctions are always the ones that let down the rest of Australias reputation.
* and dont they get pissed off when other states do things better ! ..love it - sore losers

Just found this. The music has a 1981 vibe.
But for a similar 1981 music vibe (time trip) check out here on You Tube:

Is that the Devonshire Street tunnel under Central? Hard to believe that it used to be even more hideous than it is now.

hhahah On the silver screen when he flips off the camera. Oh that was epic.
NewWaveFan1 2 years ago
Actually, he was an epic character - much like the other members of Dragon. In the end, it wasn't the heroin that killed him - it was cancer.
RIP Marc
