Since english is not my mother language, I try to express my thoughts in a clear way. I dont understand exactly what you mean by saying "I also think light, intimate and sincere at others" so I answer as below: 1. if that goes to the people who comment in this video, no matter what is their opinion, I apologize if my comment was offensive. 2. if that goes to other artists, of course there are artists with intimacy and truth, but I think Cecilia is a pure example of what joy of music concerning.

Oh no, listening to it again I find that I liked it more before. Too much ugly vibrato, just visceral special effects to entertain certain group of people who are excited to see a woman singing but hear ugly forced low notes pretending that she is a MAN! This piece is supposed to sound HEAVENTLY, SUBLIME. Bartoli just shows off her ability to produce special effects as the majority of all people can't hear the difference and make money on it. All that the crowd wants is "Panem et circenses"....

@serenaluce It is a very sweet and bitter song where vibrato plays a role in the expression of the tenderness of its message. I don't see that as kitsch, but very mucha romantic and melancholic touch which in my view is totally in tune, as is here warm alto voice totally in tune with the portée of this song.

@starimirko1 Actually, you know, tastes differ and it's only exchange of opinions on YT. All opinions should be allowed, not only praises to artists. And opinions about art often clash. It's normal. There would be no development in any field if all the people only agreed with each other and never criticized e.g.overpromoted artists. IMO to express this romantic and melancholic touch as you say any singer, especially a woman shouldn't use much vibratio which is not in tune but makes it ugly.Sorry

@serenaluce I am very sensitive when it comes to vibrato. Most of the time, and I agree with you on that, vibrato is used to sugar it up with a poor and 'over the top' result. No question about that. But I just do not agree on this one, especially not this one! lets agree to disagree then here.

The same quality in an artist can be very appealing to one and sound unpleasant to another:-). It's not the end of the world:-). Bartoli has her own fans. If people like her, it's good. I just expressed MY opinion that I consider her an overpromoted commercial singer with only visceral special effects, and there are much better artists...

I think it is an unfair argument.

I am hardly interested in who or what Bartoli is as a singer, I am not a follower of her at all. I just think this execution is done perfectly and in style with the message of it. That's all.

I'm fed up! I tried to understand why so hype about her as IMO she doesn't deserve such fame and there are much better, finer singers with great, smooth, effortless technique who are just not promoted. And I made a conclusion that the crowd just wants VISCERAL SPECIAL EFFECTS, entertainment

Though, i have to say that not many artists in general present the joy of music making, from a very deep point of their souls, and hopefully Cecilia sings every single note from this very deep point of her existence, no matter how deep it is or not. Thanks for posting this video! I have been haunted by this Cesti song since i first heard it as a university music major in the late 80s, but i lost my recording of it years ago! Bartoli's voice is sublime! But for aurias from this period, i really crave a simple, sans vibrato style of singing.  Anyone know of any such recordings?
