EXTREMELY powerful scene. This is one of two of my all- time favorites that combine visuals with music (in a movie). The other is Wise Up by Aimee Mann in the movie Magnolia. Both are EXCEPTIONALLY moving.

actually, donnie doesn't find jesus at the end. don't try to turn the end into some christian thing. donnie smiles at the end because he knows he was already doomed to die, and that his death will save the universe. he's seen the meaning behind life (whether that be God's purpose or someone (or something)s purpose.

its not ironic because he decided to die to save the universe from not beening destroyed because if frank did not show how what would happen if he was alive he would of sleeped walked and the timeline would of been not be right and the universe would destory its self.frank show donnie this so he would live in the universe that he saved by giving his life to save his girlfriend and family.
