Um, very choppy and the bend that you do at the end is out of key. the first part of the video you play in the key of g minor and that sounds fine until you get to the end of the lick and play the g# on the 9th fret of the b string... g# is not in the key of g minor and sounds very dissonant... then when you start on the 9th fret with the box shape pentatonic you change keys completely to c# minor so in essence this isn't a guitar run, its the same lick in two different keys...
if u learn by ear ull never learn... the note... trust me its hard... because I tought the same thing and 8 years later i'm trying to learn by note...

i dont get it, when you say: drop down to the 6th fred on the B string...then suddently you stop explaining what you are doing... please update with whole tabs or better, because the lick is awsome :D

Yes sir, I was able to see Eric live when he came out with Layla inside an old solid concrete building in Houston, he wasnt playing the lead, he had a 19 yr playing it, absolutely amazing stuff. Kind regards, Mark

You will do just fine with practice, I am sure of it. Anything worth doing, is worth doing poorly, until you can do it well. I can promise you, playing the guitar is worth learning to do. Stick with it, believe it and you will achieve it. Good luck, Mark

@Oysy You can find seemingly endless videos here on Youtube.The main thing,as Mark said is practice.Even if it's a half hour a day,you need the practice.And don't just jump in and try to play everything at full speed.Start at slow and work your way up.That will help the muscle memory in your hands.One tool that a lot of guitar players use is a metronome.You can either buy one at your local music store or download one online.I use one called Weird Metronome.Good luck with your guitar.

I started 3 years ago at 52 yrs, using Saturday morning as my learning time. You can get an instructor to help you or learn by letting others teach you on youtube, which this is the method I use that is most helpful

basically he is showing how to slide up into the BB King box from the 1st position barre chord.
Neat lesson - good lick.
Then he just shows that you can use it up and down the neck, following chord progressions and put it all together.

Find some stuff that you really like listening too that is'nt too hard, then search it on youtube to see if someone has posted a lesson.
You can learn a lot from people on here, but like the man says......practice is the key and it is worth it.

@Oysy learn anything, some general theory knowledge would
be good to start with, learn the notes on the guitar and where
they are at, then expand and start learning different licks on the
net and learn how to apply them within your playing.... if you
get a small foundation of theory to start with, it will make it a lot
easier
