If you lived in the country before there were leash laws in ever county, you would know a pack of dogs, or sometimes two or even a single dog will kill sheep, chickens, goats, etc. They're having a blast doing it! Ever see a well fed cat kill a mouse? They sometimes play with it for hours. I happens in the wild as well. Of course, it's instinct. Playing to practice. Humans are also instinctual animals.

Wisdom comes with maturity and experience. I now know motorists are killed by deer on highways, how destructive they are to crops, and how herds suffer if they're allowed to get too large. I believe God intended us to eat meat. Putting a bullet in one is certainly more humane than what they go through in meat packing plants.
I could NEVER shoot a deer, but we serious animal lovers have to be educated and face facts. I am also a hunter but I respect every animal and it pisses me off when people shoot them just to injure so they can have more fun I am a one shot one kill person I only shoot if I am sure that bullet it going to take that deer down. I would NEVER try to purposefulness hurt an animal unless it was attacking me or a danger to a friend.

@ChristianDeerHunter had something similar happen to me several years ago. my buddy shot a doe that decided to die only about 200 yds from his shed. since it was so close, we drug it up to the shed so we could hang it off the tractor bucket to gut it. deer had been dead for at least 20 mins...I stepped over it to hook it up to the bucket and it kicked me right in the ankle so hard it about knocked my leg clear out from under me

I'm sorry, but there is no way to "kill" an animal immediately every time. It's not fun to watch an animal suffer at all and most hunters don't want to watch their kill, suffer. Lol this also happend to me but with a 200 + lb wild boar I shot him with a .44 ruger 200 grain hollow point in the head and I turned away for a second to call my uncle to pick us up and I turned back around and he was gone I found him 25 yds away from were he droped

this year i shot my first deer and i shot it in the neck and i thought it was dead cause it dropper right away then rolled down this hill i go down to get it and i grabbed it and it jumps up and walks like 2 steps then drops again i about pissed my self i shot it again right in the head while it was droping

Hi Rockclimber this guy behaves like a kid, I was born and raised in the mountains I've been in the army survived 10 years in Brixton, London and been shot at. I like my confort zone and I don't talk bullshit. Some people feels cool with a rifle but they would't survive 48 hours in the wild or in a project. @Hondaridr58 Also, I would put a grizzly bear ahead of us in the food chain, as they have no natural predators...needing to rely on guns and killing from a distance doesn't make us a natural predator, it makes us an unnatural predator. Humans are the only predator that needs to rely on shooting from a distance to kill rather than actually putting ourselves in any real risk.

If I wound an animal, I do everything in my power to find that animal and harvest it in a quick, clean manner. 95% of other hunters have the same morals. Don't let the 5% of assholes paint the picture. As for you saying we kill animals from a distance; I bow hunt mainly, but from time to time, I use a shotgun or a rifle. Would you rather me use a knife, and slit its throat? Would that be more ethical in your eyes?
