When I went to my local music shop looking for an 18" crash, I set up a couple to try out including a 2002 and I found the SF to sound better (to my ears) than the others. A very dynamic cymbal line. Still love it to this day and it's going on 21 years old :)
GD: what is that crash you use-the one with the fingermarks around the edge? In thius vid it is the one on your left. (I might have asked you this before..) It looks to be lighter like a 602 or a B12 Sig/SF?
I love the sound of your drums and your mics are awesome! Oh and you can fricken wail too! Great job! Super tasty groove!! Can you tell me how you tune your toms tho? wich side is tighter than the other?
@jpb318 I appreciate your MD quote...I am a self-taught drummer (since late 1973), and most of my learning came from imitating the drumming off of records...then after my skill repertoire was built up (from imitation), I began to branch out and innovate...
haha, i love how u stare at your shadow... i find myself doing this all the time, or if theres something reflective that i can see myself in while drumming i just stare at it,
Aaaahhh yeah, no mistaking Paistes!!! I've owned 16" and 18" Signature Full Crashes and 14" Sigs SE and 15" 2002 Sound Edge hats for 17 years now and love the 18" and 15" hats the best. I was going for the Bonham sound too. Love your cymbal sound. Great groove, TSRTS!! What kind of hats you playing here?
I had to come back and listen to this again, its powerful and graceful! I wanted it to break into the slow groove when Plant starts singing too, oh well, maybe for next time ;)
Excellent, excellent, excellent!!! Fantastic right-foot work on the bass drum and as I've mentioned before on your vids, the snare drum is AWESOME SOUNDING!!! Very Bonham-like sound..Great job, man!!! Keep the vids rolling in!!!
i play about 5-6 times a week.. thankfully i have my brother to play with who is a badass guitarist.. the only thing i regret is never took lessons after all these years.. Oopps ;)
great stuff. powerful but clean sound!

Hey man, I like your playing. I consider myself somewhat of an imitator as well. "First you imitate, then you innovate." Miles Davis

Out of curiosity, what Bass Pedal do you use and how tight is it? Just wonderin'...
Ace playing by the way.
lordieuan777 2 years ago
How about Achilles or In My Time of Dying
or maybe the Wanton Song?
boboskeeper 3 years ago
yeah, some drummers who tried my kit commented on how tight my pedals springs felt.
GrooveDrummin 3 years ago
do you use really tight tension on your pedal?
zeppelin511 3 years ago
REEAAALL tight! you are a mix of Johnny Bonham, and Budd Rich.
Ludwag511 3 years ago
Not really a main crash as I use both equally but the one by the hats is an 18" Paiste Sound Formula Full Crash, $240 CAD.
GrooveDrummin 3 years ago
which one is your main crash (the one closest to the hats)? it sounds amazing, how much did it cost
AllThatZZTop 3 years ago
Great playing, man. I have the same kit. I am a lefty player, but i find your technique awesome. Way to keep bonzo's spirit alive.

do you play heel down or heel up?
75Leon75 3 years ago
My heel doesn't touch but isn't far off the floor until I do doubles or triples, then my heel raises slightly, not much though.

Ahh, knew I'd heard it somewhere ;-)
