venom batteries suck i bought one and the 3rd charge it balloned on me

if u want a lipo u should check out hobbyking . com. i got a 5000mah 2s lipo and charger from there about a year ago for under 60 dollars and both are still going strong. good power too. most of the people the run a main at our track use lipos from there and only one guy had a problem but thats cause he didnt set his cut off on his truck.

Stay away from Venom Lipos, they suck! I bought (2) 11.1v 5400 mah Lipos and they lasted 4 weeks. Run time went down to 10 minutes or less on each battery. I spent $150.00 on the Venom Pro Charger to cancel out any mistakes. I sent the batteries back to Venom and still haven't gotten them back. That was 3 1/2 months ago! I 'll never buy anything with the Venom name again! Good luck with those batteries, you're gonna need it!

i got about 30-45 min run time. battery is broke. i used it probably 5 times a week. lasted about a year or so. i would recommend this battery. hope this helps

i have the same truck. I went with a 3s 8000mah lipo (11.1v) right from the start. Best thing i ever did! I get over an hour runtime, and its really not that hard to control unless your going over 50mph. With stock gearing, (19/86) i still hit about 55-60mph!!Only bad thing is when it wheelies and then spins out and crashes at those speeds, it puts holes in the body REAL quick. Took me 2 days if i remember correctly. OUT OF ALL MY TRUCKS, THIS IS STILL MY #1 FAVORITE!

Very cool, I have the Stampede VXL also and she's way too fast, can't keep the front from flipping at high speeds. I've used a 2200mah 11.1v lipo that I use for my Trex Helicopter and its small and light and packs a punch. Plus these bats are less expensive. I can get them for less than $20 bucks a piece...

how do u tighten and lossen slipper clutches

there should be a little black cap on the cover that is over the clutch and spur gear. pop that plug out with a screw driver. there is a little nut in there. use the little tire wrench that the truck should have came with and tighten the nut down as you hold the rear tires down so they dont spin. hope this helps you out man!

i dont know how fast yet. i cannot get to full speed either. i need alot more room. all the streets around here are too busy. how much are those speed readers? where can i get one? it is the stock gears.

my venom speed meter cost about $60 Aus they work pretty well but run off the spur gear so it doesn't take wheel spin into account.

my stampede started out as an xl5 but i did all th vxl upgrades adding a mamba max 5700 instead of the velion system(see my other vids for how it looked)been an ongoing project very little stock parts left now you could callit a traxas/fastlane machine/rpm stampede

i am not too familiar with the mamba max. i like my velion though.

Tne Mamba Max is a much better esc then the VXL Velion esc(more options to fine tune settings)but the motors are much the same even though the Velion motor is a lower Kv then the 5700, I think the Mamba is quicker off the mark but the Velion has a slightly higher top end speed. Really depends on what batts your using though.

cool, do you know what speed you're getting to? I'm running a venom 7.4v 5000mAh 2s li-po & venom speed meter so far clocked at 80km/h but my tyres are balooning to much to go any faster. What gearing are you using? i'm running 27p 83s.
