You failed to mention what you do with the solution while you wait for the string to dry. Do you reheat the solution? Do you make MORE? Does the solution NOT dry out while waiting for the string to dry?

You also failed to show a FINISHED PRODUCT. I am under the impression the entire glass will crystallize on the string, making one HUGE sugar crystal stick.

@PlatinumMagik it takes 6 hours not a week but u have to boil the water first then add the 2 cups sugar not four! then put it in a jar then put a stick in it not string then u put it in a ziplock bag then itll start making crystals in 30 mins then itll get bigger

youre really not supposed to use paper weights or any sort of metal or anything like that as the thing to keep the string straight we make these all the time and we use a lifesaver at the instead the reason im saying this is because that paper weight can be toxic and you might not even know you might think its perfect even if you wash it it isnt not trying to be hateful but just concerned for peoples health

i have a way easier way, boil one cup water put into a cup, add 2 cups suger stir until pretty much clear, put in a popsicle stick wait one day take stick out and enjoy :D

@Loriisdabest yes you can use a stick., just keep it about and inch from the bottom of the jar.

i also want to point out that its easier if you add one cup of sugar at a time when you are going to mix it up- and evne if you use a stick of string- its just a lot easier if you wet the string/ stick and then coat it in sugar before you lay it in the solution.
