Not Alex Lifeson's best guitar sound that's for sure. That whole Power Windows era was great music but hated his guitar tone during that period. Anyway cool tune, and love Alex Lifeson.
My old pals marks from etobicoke . Rick boffo from from the horse she was second in line to play bass for them i played in visual kontact with his broher. first was Kenny
@tysonmarie8...........I was in high school at the time.......my first band I loved, nice to relive...........doesn't really matter - another good one
Awesome song.. firey rebound lyrics! This really brings back memories of some fun times.. love the hair but not the work involved in getting it that way! These guys were gorgeous and fun to watch perform!!
@mrgumbo1 I just read the Alex Lifeson (RUSH) performed this, but that isn't Alex in the video right? Looks like the Platinum Blonde guy is pretending to play the solo then. How Milli Vanilli of them! :)
I have to admit, Im a synthesizer freak...but there is no denying the 80's were also a golden period for guitar/analog effects units. Classic tones which seem to be missing in modern music.
@cancerkiller97 Wow! Did she get a hard time for "using" all of the fellows. Hey do you guys realize that the same situation took place in 98 Degrees Video of "I Do Cherish You". Drew, Nick, Justin & Jeff all want to marry the same woman (Ali Landry) but she chooses Dustin "Screech" Diamond from "Saved By The Bell".
This song rocks just about as much as their hair!!! Can anyone tell me where I can find the tune to DL for Ipod usage? Itunes of course doesnt have it. Gee go figure.
Thanks BTW, the gal in the video is an f-ing hottie extraordinaire
@maindrag hey maindrag your prob from the 80s just guessing! i'm 14 and im in a band that plays this kind of music were gonna be throwin a cover of this song soon!!
tell us what genre this is cause we wanna sound like this
this is one of my favourite 1980s Canadian rock songs...hearing bands like P.B., Glass Tiger, Honeymoon Suite, Haywire, Frozen Ghost etc. brings back so many memories of growin' up in 1980's Canada
Hard to believe these guys are Canadian considering the vocals. Very British. Still they rock too hard to be anything like Duran Duran, who are a good band but nothing like this. Nice tune!
I t-o-t-a-l-l-y- remember this song when it was new on MTV! My jr year in high school. I thought they were a poor man's Duran Duran. The song is okay and a great period piece.
Ah, back when music was good, this was PB's biggest hit (got as high as #2), this band were serious underachievers, they should've been massive and weren't around long enough for my liking, I guess they should've been American although I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
Sounding kind of bitter, aren't we? Is that why Canadian Content laws are in place for Canuck radio programmers--because American artists suck? Still, you get no argument from me here--Platinum Blonde were "strong like bull", as were Hanover Fist, Frozen Ghost, Gowan and Honeymoon Suite!
Kenny. The lead singer? This music would be a fusion of new wave and 80s glam rock but the guitar solo by Rush's Alex Lifeson gave the song a harder edge.
I don't understand how one woman can play all four guys from the same group for a fool. I'll say one thing, The Bodyguard must have thought to himself: "Jeez, how come you don't realize you're being played."
Good song. Seen them twice in concert, mind you this was six years ago, and at both venues they were playing to less than 300 people. Washed up but nonetheless a good song.
The guitar solo being played starting at 2:29 is actually being performed by Alex Lifeson from the band "Rush", perhaps the definitive kick ass band on the Canadian music scene.
K-Rock 103.9 FM in Corner Brook, NL plays this song, but the spoken intro heard here is heard at the intro of their earlier hit "It Doesn't Really Matter"; the video version of the latter did not have the spoken intro.
Haha.. Lifeson indeed did the solo, I think just to say "ha, punk, try this". if you hear their live shows, it's obvious the solo is a recording. it's pretty funny really. kid could never actually reproduce the solo.
The colors and lighting in this video is so 80s. It reminds me of Miami Vice for some reason. I am not surprised ALex Lifeson did that guitar solo. It is the best part of the song :). I am going to see Rush in June.
