i remember i did this song in grade 4 for my hanukkah seramony. today me and my friends were dancing to this for the (now) grade 4s!!! i love this song and it brings back great memories.

she is an oriental israeli singer. unfortantly you do see only this side of Israel, because the broadcating system do not think wisely , that European israeli singers will fit much more !!!

i think in 2002 people didn't vote for Israel because of political reasons! but they rewarded israel in 2005 with a top 5 position! so people forgot about it! But this was the best song that evening! LOVE her and Israel too

Israel is not the only country participating in ESC that has problems with equality and human rights. It hurts to hear that some commentators have told the viewers not to vote for Israel because of its politics. But to tell you the truth, ESC is far from equal.Neighbours are voting for each other and some countries refuse to give points to their "enemies".

I remember watching this a couple of years ago. I fell in love with the song and kept singing it after the actual show was over. I'm very sorry for this anti-Israel atmosphere in some parts of Europe. I think it's not right to mix the politics and music.

Having just seen the entry that won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002, I am even more outraged that this beautiful song, sung by a beautiful singer, didn't win. It shows what I have said all along that there is an anti-Israel bias within the EU.

Israel has passed from "Light a candle" to "Push the button"! How romantic, how peaceful are israelis. And next near, the song will be "Drop the bomb", for sure. Israel, you are not Europe. Go away!

What about once not mixing politics and music... Btw, Turkey is not Europe, either (most of the territory is in ASIA) but nobody would deny the right of the turks to participate... If you're not informed, dear jontxai, it's about the EBU (European Broadcast Union) and Israel is a member of it. Like most of the northern african countries. Never mind, as long as the world is intoxictated with politics, music will always suffer... Sarit, ani ohev otach!!

Absolutely spot on. It is an outrage that the usual anti-Israel propaganda and feeling that emanates from the EU prevented such a nice song from winning. Sarit deserved much better treatment.

I am sorry, but I can't let you get away with that. It didn't win partly because of the anti-Israel feeling in Europe, with many tv commentators asking the viewers not to vote for Sarit. It is a really good song and I repeat that it is an outrage that it didn't win.
