Rebuilding the original twin towers would be disrespectful to the original buildings and would dishonor the memory of those who died. This buildings were so unique! I'm not from US, but i just adore American cities. I am so fascinated by these buildings that I had to make their model. Just like in the past, when they were one of the greatest unique buildings in the world, i decided to spend much effort and time to construct them. And finally, after almost 4 years of construction my work paid off. I have a model of this enormous towers in my room! And they will stand here for years! They are my inspiration! :) Peace!

@periesicsd Behind this "Ballons" were small balconys,i have a photo with welding workers, at this time no one know that asbestos is harmful to the people,shure fireproofing applying, some weldings(every 3 floors),bolting the Perimeter sections, maybe some of front panels! Personally, I wish that the Port Authority would rebuild the twin towers, but there is hardly any profit in it. Sure it would do good for the skyline, but after 9-11, companies began moving out of the city realizing in another event like that could be one big swoop of all the employees. So now there's too much office space in NYC, which would bring up the reconsideration of creating more empty buildings. Just my thought... It is impossible for all that jet fuel to weaken the steel columns! Steel melts at about 2,500 degrees! What still amazes and puzzles me equally is this; looking at the steel used, the heavy gauge prefabricated, tubular designed sections of the outer bearing walls, it still baffles me how those plains caused so much structural damage on impact? The planes were made of very light aluminum! I did recently read the reports that stated, the towers were made to withstand high driving gales and hurricane force winds, they were not designed to withstand jet liners being flown in to them!

The high velocity of the airplanes, combined with their concentrated impact point with an elevated mass from the energy of the impact was more than enough power to break through. You also should keep in mind different materials have different kinds of strength. Kevlar can stop a supersonic bullet but does little against an icepick stab. These buildings simply weren't meant to take a hit and fire of this magnitude.

this really is a great engineering feat. some people say that the construction engineering was the reason they fell but no building can withstand a plane crash of that magnitude.

I know Tishman Constr. was the main operator of this project. I asked them for original videos and pictures from the construction but i didnt get anything....they directed me to the Port Authority homepage but they didnt respond me.
They were beautiful buildings. I would have loved to see them in person. Tragically, they were destroyed, along with so many people. I would love to see them rebuilt instead of the stupid "freedom tower" or whatever they call it now.
Those are floors and if you read about them they link the buildings core and wall together like a book standing vertically with several rubber bands holding on to some sticks

They got their chance to get rid of the Twin Towers and Building 7. The owner took out insurance 2 years prior to 9/11 in case two airplanes hit his buildings, Strange that the only buildings that fell on 9/11 were the 3 buildings he owned? Already decided they were not going to rebuild prior and after 9/11.

It angers me to see how gorgeous this really was at this time and how spectacular this was. To see it torn down by terrorists sickens me to the core. Knowing how long was spent building this and the mere hour and a half it took to demolish completely.

Personally, I wish that the Port Authority would rebuild the twin towers, but there is hardly any profit in it. Sure it would do good for the skyline, but after 9-11, companies began moving out of the city realizing in another event like that could be one big swoop of all the employees. So now there's too much office space in NYC, which would bring up the reconsideration of creating more empty buildings. Just my thought... The only people to blame are the terrorists and MILLSTREETMED.

@pitchingwedge1 It has to be an inside job! Jet fuels and fire from the airplanes were not hot enough to melt all of the steel inside the Twin Towers! It is impossible for all that jet fuel to weaken the steel columns! Steel melts at about 2,500 degrees! The fires in the towers could not have been that hot to melt the outer columns or the supporting beams! I used to be a welder in high school!

That was a sad day for me to see such wonderful architecture destroyed. I say that they should had rebuild the twin towers than make a memorial on that site. The pentagon was rebuilt after it was hit by a plain, why not the twin towers? It would show American strength if the towers were rebuilt.

I am still wondering why they don't use corner collumns, they don't need any space and even make this building much stiffer and safer in the case of any terror attacks!! And they just stack and bolt the most of the perimeter together without using any torch??? I mean look at the collapse videos the perimeters crack at the boltet points!!! Don't missunderstand me I loved these towers, in some points I can't understand such building solutions for a former world rekord building!

The Twin Towers were the most beautiful skyscrappers in the world. They were the most recognizable icons in the world. If the Freedom Tower is built the terrorist will win. The antenna on top of the tower called WTC 1 is supposed to also be 10x more powerful. One fact that the people don't know yet however is that NYC first of all doesn't know if they should spend all that money, but second they haven't even placed in an order for steel!

What still amazes and puzzles me equally is this; looking at the steel used, the heavy gauge prefabricated, tubular designed sections of the outer bearing walls, it still baffles me how those plains caused so much structural damage on impact? The planes were made of very light aluminum! I did recently read the reports that stated, the towers were made to withstand high driving gales and hurricane force winds, they were not designed to withstand jet liners being flown in to them!

The high velocity of the airplanes, combined with their concentrated impact point with an elevated mass from the energy of the impact was more than enough power to break through. You also should keep in mind different materials have different kinds of strength. Kevlar can stop a supersonic bullet but does little against an icepick stab. These buildings simply weren't meant to take a hit and fire of this magnitude.

this really is a great engineering feat. some people say that the construction engineering was the reason they fell but no building can withstand a plane crash of that magnitude.

I know Tishman Constr. was the main operator of this project. I asked them for original videos and pictures from the construction but i didnt get anything....they directed me to the Port Authority homepage but they didnt respond me.
