There are more variables, but it's perfectly fine. If you get a nice freeze with a shallow snow dusting, it's a-ok. In Minnesota, where I am, there are lots of snowmobilers that digout these big ruts in the ice, and that's the biggest issue. If you catch it early on in winter before extensive snowfall and use by recreational riders, it's a LOT of fun

ok landing on ice ,,,why? i could see doing it in an emergency ,but to risk loosing such a nice plane or your life ,,,oh well

@norm53 It is not really a risk at all on stable lake or reservoir ice. Ice will support hundreds of thousands of pounds without a worry.

@R1Kyle Yeah but you have to go on ground and check the ice first. A slight change of temperatur could change a safe ice to a dangerous one.
