Having lived in this war-torn country back in the late 1970's, I grew to love the people with whom I lived. . .When Yugoslavian President Josip Broz Tito died, different political factions jockeyed for position and the inevitable happened - civil war. Suddenly my friends were pitted against each other.
That is why he wrote with song, and @kimbalchase, Andrea Klouse helped arrange this song. You can read about why he wrote it on his blogspot
No. This song was written after the composer, (who worked in a childrens hospital over in Africa,) Went to go get supplys from the city. He came back to see that the hospital was bomb and everyone inside was murdered. Get it? "Prayer of the Children" ha. Please dont assume. Especially if you dont know what you are talking about.
@jackjack9er9er that is completely wrong and sounds like you just made it up there is even an interview with Kurt Bestor explaining this song and never did he single out and mention children in Africa
@javonni08 im sorry javonni, it wasn't wrote about the halocaust...I know Andrea Klouse personally. It was wrote about a young boy that was trapped in the war, air lifted to the USA for treatment, sent home after healing and was unfortunately caught in crossfire of the war and passed away.
Every one is wrong about this song. It was written and performed by Kurt Bestor. He is not a doctor. To hear it in it's finest form, listen to him doing it.
I know one of the composers of this song. Andrea klouse she works in the bethel school district and grahm kapowison high school. She is so tallented. I love this song. Her and the other person who wrote this areso talented. 4 guys sand this at the bethel choral fest and it made me cry. It's beautiful and the words couldn't have been better picked. Absolutely love it :)
A Doctor was stationed at a children's hospital in the middle of a cival war in South Africa, I think. But he went to another village to get supplies, and when he returned, the entire hospital was gone. Completely destroyed by enemy bombs. He returned to his home country and wrote this. Just think about that when you listen to thiis song.
in the very beginning it sounds like they push a little out of tune, but otherwise sounds great. the most amazing version of this i've heard was when my choral teacher did it with his master singers men, it was amazing
awesone job and the lead has one of the best voices i have ever heard. hearing this gives me chills.

@javonni08, not a chance. The Jews of the holocaust would never cry to Jesus. Think about it.
This song was written by a man who witnessed the horrors of the ethnic clensing in the former Bosnia Herzegovina.
