Then stay the fuck where you belong! This is Europe and you have no right to demand any cultural rights of yours. Europe is a christian countinent, try remembering that the next time you want to say something about rights. As far as Canada goese - the people there are also christians.
1. her identity needs to be known, so the person in the ceremony is the right one.
2. the government officials need to know she actually took the oath.
3. other people have the right to communicate with her, as most human communication is non-verbal.
muslim women do NOT have the right to erase their idenity and put up a wall between themselves and others. this is nothing but a big middle finger to canada. these girls are jokes. follow the law or leave.
Listen if I was in power the ban would be extended to all public places outside of your own home and I do hope that comes next. Women started wearing the niqab in greater numbers only recently and I know its for reasons both of Provocation and cultural jihad against the west and its culture and you could also add that its for attention. But it has nothing to do with islam or the quran so don`t tell lies.
This issue is critical for ALL of us! Per Martin Niemoller: "First they came for the communists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak out because I was Protestant. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me"
What if the ones coming step by step closer to you each time taking away one freedom after another whilst others remain silent are islamists? or had that thought not occurred to you?
OMG just take the fucking thing off!!! Why the hell is there ALWAYS protest with these people. For fuck sake, take it off, take your oath, then put it back on!! If that's too hard, STAY WHERE YOU ARE!!!
When a practicing muslim says, that he or she has embraced multiculturalism, the person either doesn't know what multiculturalism is or is plain lying. Religion is part of culture, multiculturalism is regarding all cultures of equal value. Plain logic tells you that monotheism is strictly against that notion.
Sad to see Canada shifting to the right and sacrificing it's values. Although I don't agree that the Niqab is a religious necessity, the state cannot sanction how a person chooses to practice their faith unless it actually harms people, which it doesn't. If taken to the supreme court, the Kirpan precedent as well as the Turban precedent will go a long way in contributing to the striking down of this law should it go into affect.
never knew canada was taking steps towards banning the niqaab :( ... hopefully they wont .. that would be very 'uncanadian' and it would affect other western countries ...

I think it's hilarious when people stand up and yell for values of freedom, values that isn't shared by the religion they pratice!
Muhammed was the perfect example for all men, what was his values of freedom when he conquored Mecca?
HYPOCRITES!

"Last time I checked, Canadas true values were freedom and respect for cultural differences"
Last time I checked, islam did NOT agree to these values.

God is wonderful. Religion was introduced by people, not by God.
