No, it's a song written by Russell A. Wier for his 1975 Don't It Make You Wanna Dance LP. The song was also recorded by The New Riders of The Purple Sage for their Oh What a Mighty Time LP also in 1975.. Paz
I drove him after a show in Dallas, Texas to Luckenbach, Texas"... in the late 70's... and when he finally woke up (with friends) they decided they did not want to be in Luckenbach, Texas.
So, I bought ANOTHER six-pack of Michelob, and drove back.
That portrait...if anyone is curious on where that big 'ol smile came from...as the story goes it was hot humid day in Kelley's art barn in Austin, went through 4 shirt changes, he was soaked in sweat, so with one more sheet of film I told a joke and I don't tell jokes very well but the punchline was......are you ready for this?.... MOOSECOCK! We laughed so hard and I pushed the cable release. And the rest they say is history. You are missed Rusty. So missed. RIP brother.
ahh......memories of a 75 Camaro at warp 9 and a cooler full of Coors in the back seat. Now just follow this up with some B W Stevenson, Michael Murphy and Steve Fromholtz for a typical Friday night in late 70's Texas.
Rusty you are the best party guy in austin since i could drink or smoke. we party at the the old soap creek in austin together in 74-77 GET WELL MY FRIEND I HAVE A FATTY AND SHOT OF PETRON WAITING ON YOUR RETURN. DON KINCAID
The "Don't it Make You Want to Dance" album and cover is framed on my wall right next to Leon Russell! Thanks for the chance to hear it without taking it down.

Everyone but me slept very well!
I did get paid cash for a "fool's errand".
But, that's just me.

Rusty told me that song cost him his first marriage because his first wife didn't think it was as funny as we all did... ;P

I hated Coors beer... but, I loved all those crazy bastards!
Rusty and ol' B.W. are singing at the big ranch-house beyond... God, I hope I make it to the big house when I'm done down here.
It was fun to cook for them for all those years... a long time ago in a land far away.
(Maybe I can cook at the BIG ranch-house someday!)
