This is a great strategy game but it pulls no punches. If our not up to the job you will see your troops decimated very quickly. By far and away the hardest turn based strategy game available today.

Why do you think they saved us from the Nazis? Stalin who built many gulags across the Russia released a plan for a new gulag with a capacity of 50 000 people when he was dying. The other leaders of the USSR were normal and judged the men involved with madness. I think this would happen if Nazi won the war. They would be the monsters and continue with concentration camps until Hitler would die. Then they would judge the crazy tortures and close the camps saying that Hitler was a madman.

why have the "western allies" got the stars and stripes behind them? the US only saw action in Europe in the last year of the war (ie after D-Day) - war in the west was just a backwater, WWII was fought in the eastern european plans up to the Urals and the Caucasus

Yeah, Russia took the brunt of the war, infact probably 85% of it. But while Russia saved the world through raw man power (the meat grinder of the Ostenfront), American paid for most of the allies war. Not saying I disagree with Fred, just saying it was a combined effort that could have arguably failed if 1 side (U.S, UK, Rus) didn't do their part.

There are three segments to the campaign. That part of the campaign shown is the last one, and that particular mission is American. The game begins with you in control of the Axis, moves on to the Russians, then on to the Allies.

Like Advance Wars, but much less friendly to new players. This game is very much for the serious, hard-core strategy fan.
