I love all these progressive drummers. There's always a battle between Lopez and Axe. First of all, Lopez was on 6 studio albums, Axe was on one. Not really much to compare with. Second off, they're different styled progressive drummers. Once drummers get to a certain point of skill, who the fuck cares who does what as long as it sounds good and is proficient. Stop looking for something to bitch about and just enjoy the musicianship.

I am not saying that portnoy is bad or anything, but Axe is far more better drummer in general. He knows all the death metal tricks and also he is amazing rock drummer.

You know, Mike has never been using blastbeats over long time in albums before A Nightmare To Remember, But Axe uses it way more, and he is good at it! :)

Mike Portnoy is for me a better drummer in most' ways other than blastbeats.

Axenrot is good though, and he does definitely make a certain touch to Opeth!

Personally Lopez did a better job I think, but he got sick, and thats life.
