I laugh when I see this car with the wipers going back and forth. My dad had a 68 Plymouth Fury and he always had a problem with the wipers rapping the base of the windshield and the left edge of the windshield. The dealer never could adjust the wipers from going too far off both edges of the windshield. On this car in the video, the wipers don't even take a full swipe of the windshield.
to me......new cars became no fun at all by about 1973. My 1962 chrysler and my 1965 nova wagon were fun cars. When cars started being designed to look like and be an appliance instead of a car.....it was all over for me and my car lust
This is groovy. Sonny Bono would've gotten a nice check from the Chrysler Corporation for the re-use of his original song.
The guys seen here with Pet are looking very '68 with their hairstyles and sideburns. Note the psychedelic background too, that the car is displayed against.
@zukomatico I am old enough to remember these cars, new.....they were really good cars and even the small 318 V-8 engine was really peppy. Chrysler products didn't start to suck till about 1973
@inkey2 my 1st car was a '74 Dodge Dart w/ the 318 V8. It was fast & not too laden down with weight. Only problem I ever had with it was brakes. I actually drove it into the junkyard. Plymouth was putting out a lot of garbage & now Dodge has took over. Remember when a MOPAR engine meant quality?
@kerry5101971 my older sister bought a 1971 dodge dart, slant 6, new. She hardly eever changed the oil and got into tons of accidents with it...yet she had it at least 7 years
I used to own a 1968 fury convertible but I sold it.

Does anyone remember sweet little Jordan Catalano 'leaning' against his Plymouth Fury 1968?
I'm still in love with this guy <3

"Some o' them fellas looked like fellas what prefer the company of other fellas..." Not considered "cool" in 1968.
Petula looked good, though. Mm-mmm.

That's actually a little disturbing.

Trouble is they don't make Plymouths any more...much less commercials where they turn the car into a 4,000-pound conga drum! (More's the pity...)

I sure wish they still had commercials for cars like this...
