  • I am testing the apple ipad 3 today and I have to tell you it's very nice! I signed up to deemed a tester and evidently I get to keep it. Grabbed it this morning in the mail

  • Thumbs up for acutely searching up the juicygallum on twitter

  • Legends at what they do, but unfortunately not good acting. But I forgive them : ) . its not their main job, lol .

  • Check my profile to win iPad 2.

  • SWIPE IT DAMNIT!

  • How shall we sell our new iPad app? I know, we'll have Woodward come off as a technological retard and Bradlee as the new editor of National Enquirer. Because that'll really make it appeal to the kids. Or it'll make us sound like journalistic morons. Hmm, can't decide.

    Fail-tastic.

  • Rupert Murdoch said that "boys have NO rights to their genitals, or penises or prepuces, which are dirty, disgusting, and should be sliced as close as possible. Penectomies are best, even if only 2 of a boys testes are crushed in the process, it's healthier than leaving a boy intact."

Rupert Murdoch said "Female Circumcions are have religious Sharia Law, aesthetic, and advanced health benefits for the girls it is given to." in the NY Post Newspaper.-

  • no, these days twits tweet themselves.

  • Looking…

    You are looking at me...

    Yes, I am observing you...

Can you see me , yes in all your glory...

    You aren’t blinded by it...

No it doesn’t look that way...

However, there wasn’t anything worth seeing until now...

You sure have opened my eyes...

  • Who made this super fun cool and engaging ad?? There's the rub. It's so ironic... Great to see the icon guys, Bradlee and Woodward, willing to play themselves, along with the others. Such great chemistry between them and adorable to see them having fun and with Bradlee still handsome at age 89. Love that he never gave in to the dumdownocracy and that he kept to his type. This will be culty classic.

  • Tell you what, if Ben Bradlee follows social network comments, I'll buy a hat and eat it. Hell, six hats.

Also, I think I spotted an error in the script. I'm pretty sure the correct answer to "It's generating a lot of Facebook chatter" would actually be "Really. That's fascinating. Your point being...?"

  • USA TODAY's iPad app is far superior, but the Washington Post has the best iPad app ad!

  • The lefty twits fail to recognize that for this and other gadget to really change the world, someone has to actually read. The leftwing nuts don't read.

  • cool as ocean eleven guys

  • hey - EVERYBODY is doing it. even the losers over there....

  • Now that he's using an iPad, somebody please tell Bob Woodward to be careful when googling for Deep Throat.

  • Great commercial! I saw the Celebritology Team.

  • Lovely idea.

  • This is really well produced and fun to watch! I love this because I recognize a lot of the WP faces: Cilizza, Milbank, etc. This is fun. I have the app on my iPod Touch.

  • It looks like The Washington Post is all in on the iPad. Somehow I doubt you'll see a remake for the coming Android 7" tablet wanna bes.

  • Looks like a bunch of WSJ employees are commenting on this video because it's definitely not a good as the comments would lead you to believe. Also, come on, the NYT iPad ad with Jason Schwartzman is so much better.

  • great commercial!

  • this video is awesome! cudos to the creative team that thought this up!

  • "These kids think that tweets twit themselves!" Love it ... Great Job by all involved.

  • Seriuosly great! I get the Times but after this i am going to chek the WP app.

    Well done

  • great job! love the video & the app!

  • Amazing production quality, WP now has to deliver a great app to be on par with this ad. I never read the Post, but can't wait to get the app

  • is that Ben wearing the old worn soled shoes from Watergate days as an inside joke? HAR!

  • will Alexandra Petri's sick joke about airplane crashes be on the app, too? God help us!

  • cute!

  • 'was that robert redford?' - hahahahahah

  • Great ad! Congratulations!

  • Great ad! I just subscribed to your feed!

  • The acting is terrible, which is strangely compelling, since everybody is playing themselves.

  • What's the song at the beginning?

  • "Look… I'm on TV! " LOL. That was funny. Good commercial.

  • Man, I wish I had worked for that newspaper before I quit the biz!

  • Nice production for what should be a great app.

  • Wonderful ad!

  • this ad is awesome! i love this ad.

  • Now, if they can only hire GOOD EDITORS!

In the olden days you had one hard deadline and put the paper to bed. Now, in a 24-hour news cycle, it's like a petulant teen that won't turn off the television and computer in time to get a good night's sleep.

You have a content machine in need of tighter editing.

("Rework that cutline dammit, trying using a verb this time!")

I'm available for swing shift including weekends and holidays.

  • Lol! These kids think tweets tweet themselves

  • @tsanturi

Sadly some kids DO think that.

  • Nicely done.
