  • I see and hear those all the time over here in the UK, nice catch!

  • thanks Daniel

  • You sound like you would be a great story teller with that voice

  • Thank you very much

  • i like doves

  • They are neat birds

  • They look delicious!! Does anyone know where i can hunt these?

  • I am sure they are plump juicy birds, These birds are not native to america but have migrated here in the last few years. Their tewrritory is spreading, I would consult my local game warden before hunting them however

  • @SHARPIE54321

In Colorado, Eurasian collared doves can be hunted year round, with no daily limit.

  • @SHARPIE54321 In my garden :) their not as big as wood pidgeon and you dont get much meat on them, but concidering a chicken over here costs about £4 or probably around $6 in the US,you can shoot them over here all year around if their a danger to public health and safety, eat crops or are endangering protected birds.Cook a few or feed them to the dogs.saves money :)

  • I live in CA, and there are several around my house. And we now have a tamed one, thanks to my sister, who rescued him from the jaws of our cat. His favorite place to sit is on top of peoples heads =)

  • Thanks for watching, This year some of mine were killed by hawks Maybe you should make a video of the tame one

  • Predation is natural, even hawks have to eat. I love collared dove, they are so pretty

  • I totally agree, thanks for watching

  • I have some visit my garden and I have had the same problem with hawks catching some of the younger ones.

  • we have them here in the UK, and we call them collared doves. before the early 1950s there were none here now they are quite common

  • Thanks, I wasnt aware of that. I lost some of these this year to Red Tail Hawks,

  • @WILKO50 Yes, their "koo-koo-kut" call is now as familiar in our countryside asd our traditional native wood pigeons with their slow, booming call that sounds like blowing across the top of a milk bottle.

  • LOL This year they do that a lot. More birds here this year I think

  • here in the philippines we have them too, but not that many.

  • Thank You for watching

  • They are also in Gran Canaria! I know that its closer to Europe but its still only an island more close to Africa. Maybe they spread from Europe to Africa and then came over to the Canaries with a ship and then again to the Bahamas, and then again to America. Now, they can't find back, but have discovered the beauty of the New World!

  • It is incredable how they have populated the world so quickly Thanks for watching and commenting

  • Thanks for the info. Im unfamiliar with the laceneck so I will research it. Yep Im sure its just a matter of time.

  • I live in LA now and have yet to see one out here...but I'm sure it will be a matter of time. Although the Spotted Dove (or Lace Necked) which I used to see everwhere from Hollywood to Disneyland had dissappeared and I haven't seen a single bird in over 7 or 8 years.

  • Cool video....I have noticed a huge increase of these doves in Central Calif where I am from. They have spread rapidly over the years...I see them in Gilroy, San Martin, Hollister and Morgan Hill.

  • I hadnt realized they had migrated that far. Maybe they are trying to find europe LOL

  • Cool!

  • Thanks Trey

  • It will be interesting to see the fight between the people that want only native species, and the people that dont want any animal killed ever.

    Bill

  • nothing wrong with that camcorder Walt

They are not only in the US Walt they are here in Canada too.

I have them right out side my window here on the fourth floor sitting on a wire.

Not yet but when it gets warmer they come

  • Well at least they are fun to watch. I had heard they were spreadng northward. They are a hearty species. Thanks for the comment about the camera my friend

  • Wonderful video!

  • Thank you, Chris

  • no problem

  • Excellent video.Good zoom. Thanks for sharing.

  • That means a lot. Thanks for watching.
