  • way too late, but a lot of memories are found to be stored in certain parts of you dna, and for that, I'd have to give it to fury, also, how would adamantium penetrate adamantium, when adamantium in the first place is impenetrable? Just because it is made out of the same material doesn't mean it's better, usually worse if it is made into a bullet and shot at something designed to withstand impacts.

  • My opinions:

    Round 1 Winner: Fury

    Round 2 Winner: Fury

    Round 3 Winner: DistantJ

Round 4 Winner: None. Both good points.

    Round 5 Winner: Fury

    My Verdict:

Having heard a lot of negative reviews before I saw it, I actually quite liked the movie. I will admit, however, that it was poorly written and the characters were underdeveloped. I would say that Fury is the winner of this debate because "badassness for the sake of it" just doesn't seem like a good point to me.

  • I gotta give this one to Fury. they both made great points. i thought the fights were really badass and the effects were good, but that was about the only thing that i liked. there were really no surprises in this movie. after seeing the trailers and leaked clips you wont even need to see it in theaters. this movie is an insult to the fans and Fox could've at least tried to entertain us.

  • Distant j had a point about the adamantium bullets. however the memory trauma that Wolverine suffered was not inflicted by bullets... i could have sworn it was brain washing.

  • I'd give it to Fury, but i don't blame DistantJ, it's hard to defend a crap movie. Even by the way he talks about it you can tell. But nonethless, in terms of a point system, it goes to Fury.

  • i think that fury made a number of points which were good considering plot and characters, but you cant overlook the entertainment value in simply seeing certain characters. as for following the comics, well most of the people seeing the movie will have only seen the previous 3. i have to say that whether or not this movie sucked depends entirely on what you wanted to get from watching it. i liked it, but that doesnt matter. you both made points that would win w/ like minded people 4/5 to4/5

  • I somehow think I need to be convinced how much X-Men Origins: Wolverine sucks. I'm not convinced yet, I still think it's awesome. But maybe you have a good point when you say it sucks, Fury.

  • Fury for the win.

DistantJ, like GameSheriff said, had many self-defeating arguments...He never seemed to go anywhere with his defence of the movie, other han seeming to not care that i was a poor movie.

  • A lazy film that doesn't even try to stay true to the source material. Wolverine demands a complex character study with action elements, not a dumbed down action flick. Wolverine could have been a great film along the lines of Spider-Man 2, but instead was turned into a cash-in along the lines of Spider-Man 3. With great comic book adaptations like Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, and the Dark Knight out there this film had no excuse to end up the way it did. I give the debate to Fury.

  • Interesting debate, but I thought DistantJ's arguments were ultimately self-defeating:

He tried ot defend the movie as a good popcorn flick, full of bad assery for the sake of bad assery; and he might even be right: but by passing the movie as a simple popcorn flick, he's pretty much admitting it fails as an Origin Story.

Origin Story movies are supposed to be deep, complex and story-driven; story and character development come first, and action is second. Not the other way around.

  • wasnt wolverine shot inf the face in the first 10 mins with sabertooth

  • volverine origins sucked

  • my vote is for distantj, because i thought it was a good movie and i had nothing wrong with the characters and the plot...i agree with the adamantium, because it was what i thought of when watching the movie...i enjoyed the action thought that they kept a good plot, and i was excited to see gambit in this movie...i never really heard of deadpool until this movie

  • DistanJ's voice was so freakin annoying....not to be mean or anything. I agree with Fury, It just didnt do it for me and I dislike Gambit. Deadpool was butchered(literally) and just because this is a Wolverine movie they still need to respect other characters. Xmen Origins: Wolvie gets 3/10 in my opinion. Not as bad as Superman Returns anyways.

  • Both make good arguments and I agree with both of them on many but I think DistantJ is the overall winner.

  • I can't decide. You both made really great points. I agree with Fury's side on the whole cheating the audience thing, but at the same time, J makes a great counter-point. What happened to just going to movies to have fun? It could be a horrible movie, but still really fun to watch.

But I think I'm going to have to give the vote to Fury. You can still make a fun movie and have it be good at the same time. And I can't stand greedy studios. They anger up the blood.

  • i thought wolverine was great and I don't think gambit was put in badly. Although deadpool did look wayyyyyy too much like barraka.

  • In the 2 world war sequence, Wolverine is made out of actual bones, and he gets shot in the head by a METAL bullet. AND GUESS WHAT? HIS MEMORY IS STILL THERE!

  • This segment is very cool. I've been looking forward to it ever since your video advertising it came out. I love a good debate and you both brought it. Looking forward to more. Nice job!

  • DistantJ made some great points and delivered his arguments really well, but everything Fury said was what I thought about the movie after going to see it a second time--sort of in a double take just to see if I was actually seeing what I was seeing.

It was a 1Dimensional movie that was predictable and boring and I really hated how they butchered some of my favorite characters (Deadpool being one of them.)

  • I must say Fury wins!

All his points where well explained!

  • Eh, both points are valid, and I really agree with Fury's point of view......but in the end, i DID enjoy X-Men Origin's for what it was: a mind-numbing action flick. And the special effects and fight scenes were AMAZING.

So DistantJ wins in my book.

  • Fury wins!

  • Round 1: Winner: Fury

    Round 2: Winner: Fury

Round 3: Winner: DistantJ, -1 point

    Round 4: Winner: DistantJ

    Round 5: Winner: Fury

    Fury's score: 15

    DistantJ's score: 9

    Winner: Fury

Great debate guys, I had to listen to it twice to get the full feel of it and not just be like, oh, one of you guys rocked and the other sucked. In the end Fury won. DistantJ did a good job defending, but at times it seems that he agreed with Fury and his defence was, oh, it's not that big of a deal.

  • fury as always your on the mark, distantj should stick too horror movies, all his points come from assumptions wich makes him a ass.

  • Fuck you. :)

  • Friday the 13th was exactly liek the old ones, Dragonball was fun, Texas Chainsaw Remake was well recieved adn was good, Halloween remake was SUPERB. Shut yer hole. Subjective. Opinions. Different people. When will you people learn that?

  • i think in friday the 13th they changed jason too much

  • Wolverine was a horrendous movie. Cliche after cliche after cliche, plot holes the size of craters on the moon. Horrific CGI and the comical ending. Not saying this is the worst movie ever, because it wasn't, but when you factor in the budget, the character history, his importance to not just this film, but several other films past and maybe even future. This film failed on an epic scale.

  • I thought it was kind of a tie, really.

I voted for DistantJ, just because I did enjoy the movie. It was not a great movie, but I was entertained.

  • Thanks but, you should vote on who makes the best argument, not on which movie you liked... Unfortunately people have done that.

  • Yeah I can't emphasize this enough, you must vote based on who made the best arguments otherwise the whole thing is useless.

  • I needed something else to base my vote on. Like I said: I thought it was a tie.

I had read the description, fully aware.

  • This was great, can't wait to see who's gonna be in the next one and what the topic is gonna be!

  • The next one is a doozy, I will be defending Transformers 2 (Ducks for cover) while DistantJ (and most of the world) will be tearing it apart. I want these debates to be rough and..It will be damn entertaining. Depending on who wins that one will determine if a 3rd debate is needed as a tie breaker. Then the debate is open for other critics on the net.

  • @FuryoftheFilmFan You already got my vote, dude XD I loved it, sans the lame-ass humping/ball jokes and jumpy pacing towards the end. I've heard it get torn apart enough, but I loved it, and it was way better than the first movie for the sheer fact that it FELT like Transformers in live-action.

  • Remember, vote on who argues better, not who you agree with.

  • That's true....still, I think you debated better based on the points addressed. For example, Fury took the general point of pretty much every critic and expressed good points, but points that I heard plenty before. However, simply defending the movie for its faults is a merit in that book, yet you managed to turn them on its head and make sense of them. DistantJ STILL beats Fury in my book.

  • @FuryoftheFilmFan

Oh, I didn't know it was a 2 out of 3 thing, I thought that after this one the winner would face someone else until they get beaten. Anyway, this will be awesome, keep it up! :)

  • I Like This.Great Job Fury.

  • Already sounds good. Here's some advice, DistantJ, try to say complaints about the film that haven't been pointed out. I know it's possible to find good points on Transformers 2 considering that I liked it, too. Good luck to both of you on the next debate. I wonder if Mr. Black will ever want to do a debate. That would be epic.

  • Wow the results on that poll are staggering. lol. I for am a little 50/50 with this movie. I didn't loath it, because I wanted to see these comicbook characters adapted, but at the same time I was upset with it, because I read the comics.

  • I love this format!!!

Don't worry Fury, I voted on your website... ;)

  • I voted for Fury. And no, it's not because, I loathe the movie. It's because, I don't think that, "It's a bad-ass film," is a good point. Because, if that's his point on Wolverine, then why does he hate Transformers 2? Right then, I just said, "Fury wins."

  • @NeoJedi888

Sorry, but I think Terminator sucked. Christian Bale was unemotional and the script was terrible. A the point where John talks to Marcus in the lake he says to Marcus that he knows what he is and at the end of the conversation John asks Marcus "what are you?!" Wow.

  • someone needs to put together a poll which promotes getting tom rothmon fired and putting someone in their who cares about the quality of the films and not just for shits and giggles.

  • i'm going with distant j,

but i do like your points to fury.

  • don't forget to go to my site and vote

  • A good move those not need to be liket

  • Did not see why they had to do those thing with Deadpool

  • My vote is on Fury. Though DistantJ did make some good points. But still we shouldn't lower our expections just to like a movie.

I don't want a "Dragon Ball" reboot until Tom Rothman is FIRED!

  • Just because this isn't a Deadpool movie doesn't mean you can screw him over.

  • Yea but, I think he's set to 'become' the real Deadpool, that's what Ryan Reynolds said anyway.

  • It's been established that Admantiun can't pierce admantium. If you want to erase his memories get a telepath.

  • In the comic it may have been. In the movies, Adamantium can pierce Adamantium, it's pretty clear. They ARE separate entities. :P

Scientifically, it's about the shape and the speed of an object. You can drill through metal with a metal drill because of the shape and motion of the drill.

  • The bullet didn't pierce his skull though.

  • I didn't see the movie but so i can't really say much about it. Its my opinion but the movie and the anime for wolverine seem so disappointing. I like wolverine better short in height and in yellow.

  • after 2-3 of your points, you said 'ok, but' to me, that is conceding at least part of your position to your opponent's point where as J didn't do that as far as i could tell. you were right to the extent of that this movie should've been better, J was right that it wasn't too bad (i thought) and more appealed to people not-so-familiar with the X-men universe, but overall, out of the 5 points each, i'd give you a 3 fury, and J a 4, and i will also give J the win.

  • I'm sorry, the movie was undefendable, they went so far at to say, quote: "Screw the fans".

For that reason alone, the disrespect for the very people who are their 'bread and butter', I must side with fury.

  • Oh god he became a partner.

Now watch him become a whore like every other partner.

    plus confusedmatthew beats them both.

  • I've been partner for a while, I haven't made any videos to sell T-shirts and I am subscribed to Confused Mathew, I am a fan.

  • Hey Fury, where there any reviews you disagreed with Matthew?

  • probably the only movie I disagreed with most people on and that's Transformers 2.

  • I guess you didn't like TLK.

  • What about Star Trek?

  • I have some life changing words for you:

    You are a fucking idiot.

    Have a nice day =]

  • me?

  • Haha. No not you fury that idiot that said you're a whore because you're a partner or something

  • Well I cant vote on your site but I will Cast my vote here.

Fury: You had very intellgent reasons to dislike the movie and I respect that your points are valid.

Distant J: He brought up good counter points.

When you spoke the scales tipped in your favor. And its the Same with Distant J

    So its a Tie

  • This was really really good. BUT one point I'd like to make is that Wolverine's story before weapon X really isn't gone into that much. We got Wolverine Origin. Which only gave us MAYBE the first 15 to 20 years of Wolverine. So there's alot that still hasn't been covered in the comics (more reason to not do the movie at all).

  • FIRST!

  • I really hate it when people say that

  • I've just never been first on any of Fury's videos. I actually do need to stop doing that.

  • Sorry, that's my sisters YouTube account. She never signs out.

  • I said that once just to see how it felt.Kinda cool.
