The car also somehow passed its mechanical check from a place the dealer recommended (stupid I know) with the back tyre down to the wire, and a hole in the front tyre. The front door was hanging off (stuff they said they'd fix) So anyway to sort it all out had to buy 2 new tyres. Also promised to supply a jack tools but didn't. Anyway I think if you buy a used car you have to pretty much ignore everything the sales people say and get your own mechanic to tell you what the REAL deal is with it :)
Filled it with gear oil so it wouldn't burn oil, that's really low :( I know where your coming from, if I ever buy another car I'll steer clear of dealerships. They'll tell you anything to sell the car to you. With my car the guy said "don't worry we'll take care of the cambelt, don't worry about the cambelt, I've been selling cars for 15 years everybody trusts me." So then I take the car home to discover they've stamped on the sales receipt "customer to check replace cambelt."
@1997FordProbeGT, I tried but it did not turn out with no proof, next time I test drive or buy a car I'm video recording and tape recording EVERYTHING for proof!
similar dealership here 'long creek motors' that is nick named long crook because of shoddy practices. friends have bought cars, had transmissions go, heads lead, etc. parents bought a sunrunner from them, got it home and the clutch went.
