  • you have really pretty eyes

  • @backseatbunny Why thank you its been many years since i made this video

  • hi im 32 now ive had n all my life they said i wouldnt play sports or drive the only prob i have is not driveing i play all sports i just cant take my drive test because u have to read num plate i love having n because im diffrent i just wished i could drive thanks m8 good vid

  • @LocoOjos88 It's the same with me! Right before stage performances or something that'll get me anxious or nervous my eyes go crazy. My n drives me nuts sometimes. I'll get headaches too, but for the most part, i'm okay with it, i use it like a cool party trick, like "Hey, look what I can do!" xD

  • @equimau5

Sounds a lot like me I have a tattoo on my back that says crazyeyes its pretty cool. My N drives me nuts to mostly when I start thinking about the things I want to do but aren't allowed to do but I embrace my N as much as I can.

  • I get so self concious about my nystagmus. I can't keep eye contact with a person because it feels to awkward :s

  • @equimau5

You know I do the same. I try really hard to look people in the eyes but then I start thinking "What are they thinking?" To ill turn or close my eyes for a second hoping my "N" isnt bad and my eyes arent going bonkers.

My Nystagmus is affected by my mood.

  • I have voluntary Nystagmus :D Meaning I can cause my eyes to twitch back and forth on their own, but when I do it, its at least 5x faster than this. I still haven't gotten around to recording my eye doing it so I can see for myself :/ Everything just gets really blurry, lol. So I can't watch myself do it in a mirror.

  • @kostaszoi Sorry it took me so long to reply, but yes I have troubles seeing signs and numbers from a distance. And not all people with Nystagmus cannot drive because I can drive.

I have heard that "N" doesn’t affect eyesight that most people with "N" have more than one problem. Like in my case my entire family has eye problems such as bad eyesight and have to wear glasses so I attribute my bad eyesight to that not the "N".

  • @LocoOjos88

I cant get a license. Could you see what they asked you to read ok when you had to go for your driving test? I saw another video but cant find it now & he said he couldn't see it but the doctor signed something which aloud him to take the test. Pretty confused to be honest and don't know if it was bullshit or the doc really would do that for a patient. Please can someone reply, thanks.

  • nystagmus really isnt that bad....i have it.....and other eye conditions on top of it...all it is for me is a slight nuisance and a conversation starter. everytime people see me at a rave or just out they think on loads of drugs...lol

  • @ooboodylan Some cases can be worse then others the few with "N" and no difficulty seeing are a select few and are prety lucky.

  • nystagmus really isnt that bad....i have it.....and other eye conditions on top of it...all it is for me is a slight nuisance and a conversation starter

  • comparto el sentimiento.. yo jamas pude verme a mi mismo..

  • ive only had requide nystagmus for 27 mouths ive come house bound i cant walk alone i dont no where i am ..i have no eye damage no brain damage......the nevere are ok so why do i have this .......the ony reason i think its my ears but no one will listen to me .when you are born you notice that you can live with it as your brain does not no any difference but my brain does .....help i need someone to listen ive seen so many eyes doctors i ask whjy i have it there answer is i dont no

  • I have nystagmus too since birth. I am 30 years old now. Mine is more severe than yours at times. I like the song you put the video to.

  • wow i have Nystagmus too. i am not alone. but i have never met someone with Nystagmus by my side .

  • @abinent the only other person i have meet face to face is my grandpa and then i was to young to really pay any attention

  • hi i suffer with this also and its hard to explane to anyone else how it feels or what you see i had mine since i was born i have not really seen anyone else with it apart from my own in the mirror my dad has it who as it in your family i hope you are proud of who and what you are x

  • @bbwcutiekelly69

My grandpa on my mom's side had Nystagmus and I have a little cousin that has it now as well.

Usually you can't see your own Nystagmus in the mirror (I know I can't) this is because your eyes focus on their focus point and because of that the speed slows.

It is very hard to explain to people that you have a disease, they always tend to look at you disgusted and tend to take a step back hoping it's not contagious or something. Best of luck to you.

  • hey man, you are not alone. i have nystagmus too.

  • Awwwwww, So Thats What I Look Like To People, Wish I Was Normal

  • @EmoxLovex4Lifexd

Why? Don’t take anything you were given for granted.

I have had my times and still do when I wish I was “Normal” but Nystagmus is a part of who you are and who you will always be embrace it and everything else that makes you who you are.

I know that sounds ridicules but it is the best advice I can give you. If you would like to talk about anything just let me know and we can think of something a tad more private.

  • I was born with this and stigmatism aswell as binocula vision. things tend to go blurd alot especially when im at my mates i hate watching tv with them cause i cant look at the same spot for too long., i cant drive either which is a piss take i got a car for my 17th and when i went to get an eye test before my lessons they said i wouldnt be able to get a licance. so yea its pretty shit living with it and I know theres loads of other people who have it people without dont understand!

  • I also have it from my birth and if I look in the mirror I can't see it. But my dad always filmed me and my little sister when we were young, so I saw I like that:)

  • @jozyvozy

Does your sister have it as well? I never saw mine or knew the extent uintil i made this video

  • Let's start a nystagmus fan club

  • @roulifesaver lets

  • I have this condition also man it can be annoying sometimes.

  • @bluetech7753 It sure can lol DL renewal, doc apts uggh hate em

  • i did the same thing.

  • Sorry it has taken me so long to reply back to you all.

I am 21 and have not even considered surgery. My eyes are a part of who I am and how people know me and I embrace it.

  • @LocoOjos88 i have the same problem, i required it after playing too many video games and now when i try to focus on a near object my eyes jerk back and forth.....i can see it happen though its not something where i cant notice it, it distrupts my vision but only for a second or 2 its a pain though cause it gives me a headache some days

  • Nelson I have had this since I was born and it is a constant thing. I hate going to the eye doctor because it turns into an ordeal but I still go and with your problem I would suggest going and getting that checked I to play many video games and usually sit close to the screen.

  • @LocoOjos88 its every time i get tired it happens a lot, ive seen a neurologist, had mri's a 2 sleep apnea tests, saw 2 epilepsy doctors, had 1 test lasted 3 days lol a lot of tests i couldnt drive all last year cause the doctor didnt want me to, but this friday im seeing a neuro ophthalmologist at colombia presbyterian in nyc to get it checked out cause its starting to annoy me haha its only with near sightedness but it was the game left 4 dead that caused it

  • When i get tired my Nystagmus gets more rapid and left for dead will cause it Im more of a Call of Duty player. Have you asked your doctors about nystagmus? It is usually caused genetically or by major head trauma but you never know. My niece has somewhat of a lazy eye when she gets tired and when she doesnt wear her glasses.

  • @LocoOjos88 yeah i was reading up before i went to the doctors early last year and i have a rare for that is required, and the doctor told me that its the least common case of nystagmus known since its not congenital, but i first started noticing it while playing left 4 dead it got so bad i had to stop and since then i havent played any xbox, untill yesterday at my friends, after 5 minutes i had to stop cause it got so bad i felt sick, most likely cause i just had mcdonalds but still haha

  • That is really weird. Because most people with N dont realize it but I do know if you get it after a injury your eye sight is wobbly just like you r eyes now if its congenital you see normally. I do get light headed a lot and I occasionally get headaches from it but I think the most damaging factor of it is the neck cramps.

  • The Surgery consists of removing and reattaching the four nerves on the eye ball. There is no clear reason as to how it stops or dampens the Nystagmus.

For those of you that have Nystagmus or know people with Nystagmus I would do your research. Record their eyes moving because they cannot see them move because of a Null point (the focus point of the eye).

Feel free to ask any other questions.

    Chase H.

  • i have that kind of nystagmus...

  • Is there any kind of surgery for that?

  • I have the same thing. When i was little, people used to always ask "Why do your eyes do that?" and I never knew what they were talking about because I could never see it for myself. lol

  • @letitgo315 And it is just way to hard to explaim exacltey what is going on with out getting looks lol

  • Thank you for posting your video my son is 10 and his eyes are just like yours dr. burnstine will be doing surgery on his eyes soon. I'm wondering though why it seems that alot of people wait till there older to have the surgery done? I was told it's better to have done as soon as possible that it works better on young children.

  • i can legally drive yes. I do have to get an eye exam before my birthday every year to keep my license valid though.

  • Thanks so much for posting. I saw the link on the annlist. Our son is 16 and was born with nystagmus. We had surgery last June with Dr. Hertle. His eyes still have movement, but the surgery did allow him to be able to drive!

Your movement is pretty much the same as our sons. Are you able to drive? Our son first saw his movement when we finally thought of taping his eyes as well! :) I think your eyes are BEAUTIFUL!

    Thanks again for posting!
