@ferre77 lol its ironic but I do admit this is one of the better tracks off that cd. "Someone" and "Loose My Cool" were major flops on the radio, eventhough RCA heavily promoted both singles. With this track "Give It Up".....it great. I like how Taj can sing lead and take charge of thie track with Leanne and Kelly on background vocals. Plus Kim's rapping on target as usual.

Im not sure where Kelly Price is from. I dont think New York City but the reason you sand background on the "Release" cd and other rappers tracks is that she was familair with all the beats. Lots of peopel dont know that she was a well known and paid background cd with Bad Boy and did all the hooks on tracks by Biggie, Puffy, The Lox and others.

@Eriq7001 I actually have the cd, and have listened too this song many times. I know Lelee doesn't have any parts in this track ;) If you listen to the CHORUS, however you wil hear certain parts were it is just Lelee singing by hereslf w/out Kelly. Since Lelee's voice is distinct you should be able too hear what I am talking about. Anyways, I am not going to get into an arguement over the internet with you over this issue ok.

For your info I already said it NUMEROUS times that LeLee and Kelly price were singing background. The discussion was rather lelee is siunging some parts by helself. I dont think so but other people belive she is. Kelly Price is singing teh chiorus ab libs. Her vocals are recognizable on that tracka s well as "Someone" amd "Release Soem Tension" 2 other tracks she sinsg backgrround on. Also it was 4th track she was on that album. Cant remeber which one.

@damezydemo Thanks....Its sounds that way ..however I can tell Kelly Price's strong vocals due to the fact that she sang mostly the hooks for Bad Boy rappers tracks..I can tell that Kelly Price is singing background but some parts of this song she is singing by herself. Lelee vocals...less strong.

U are right. it might have made an interesting first single off "Release Some Tension" due to the fact that Coko is not singing lead or even on the track. The beat could have been rer-mixed a little deeper. Like Kims part alot.

The song is taj singing lead and kelly price and lelee in teh background. coko is NOT on this track. As far as Price she sand background on 4 of the tracks due to her familarity with the beats. Remeber she was very well known and pais background singers to some of the new york city rappers tracks often singing the hooks and backgrounds. This is my favorite track off "release".

Becasue "can We" with Missy and timbo was such a huge hit, RCA thought the idea of a cd with the group calloabrating with other rappers and hip hop producers would sell. Like I mentioned I had some mixes results with the cd, but I liked "Love Like This" and well as "Loose MY Cool" and Coko sounded amazing on "Lose Myself". "Give It Up" was one of my favorites also, beacasue Taj is singing lead and Kim ddint over sexualize the track lol

Loose my cool was one of my favorites! The album was a departure from New Begining which was full of slow songs and not a enough upbeat tracks we were used too. It was the album I liked the least. Release Some Tension was just where the industry was headed at the time. Not a perfect album (over stylized) like their debut but showed signs of New Begining. LOL!

I do agree thna in 97 many r/b singers thought the only way to sell cd's was having a hot rapper and or rappers of the moment on thier cds. That formula didnt work as rappers are hard to be in concact for performammnces and video shoots. lol

You really liked the cd? i had mixed reviews..First off the cd sounds a shitty mix tape due to the fact that all the uptempo tracks jacked beats from rapper who had songs released earlier in 97. Plus some of the collaborations make no sense...Like "Getty Funky"...Snoop was tight as hell rapping, but swv sounded like any other female singing doing the hook. lol I also thought "Come and Get Some" with E40 was a little too risque and that was for a w coast artist.

Kelly Price sang background on 4 tracks from "release song tension". Remember that kelly was a very PAID and well lmown background singer with artist from Puffys Bad Boy Records. This is one of the sonsg she sang background on. Taj is singing lead with LeeLee and Kelly in the bcakground. Coko is not on this song.

I believe you are correct- Thats Leele and Lelly Price in teh background. I dont knwo why Coko is not singing on the track though. I remeber when this cd came Coko was not ahppy about working with most of teh producers and she mentioend sher "half sings" on tracks. Thats why she soundd shitty as hell on "Someone".

Thanks....I think taj's vocals wouldnt sound to tight with "Someone". She doesnt have the range like Coko, but is an okay background vocalist. As far as LeLee her vocals are always upar but check her out sining lead on "cant cope" an unrealeased single.
