  • The road from Poipet to Siam Reap is now paved and is a first class road. Now takes about 2.5 hours and quite a nice drive.

  • Really!? So, do they now have bus service and not just private taxi's?

    Do you have any pics/video?

  • Yes,They have bus service, shared taxi's (back of pick up truck), or private taxi's. I took private taxi, Cost $25.00 for the 3 of us and was dropped of at a very nice guest house (No Problem Guest House) The driver spoke good English. The cost of the guest house was $10.00. Had 2 double beds and full bathroom. Will post video of the road.

  • LOL yeah I remember the road.

  • Can you please specify where in Thailand did you take this road from? I am travelling there soon, and I would really like to visit Angkor Wat, but would be nice to avoid this road! Thanks.

  • This road goes from Poipet, Cambodia to Angor Wat, and is the most direct land route to Angor Wat from Thailand. Poipet is across the border from Aranyaphrathet, Thailand. Thankfully, the roads and highways to the border on the Thai side are very high-quality, you will only encounter a road like this once you are on the Cambodian side. It really shows the contrast in wealth between the two countries. There are currently plans to improve the quality of this route, due to heavy tourism growth.
