This was the first year for the R10 TDI, and without the Peugeot to challenge, it walked over the competition just as the R8 had for years. Since 2000, Audi has built the best race cars in the world, the R8 will go into the books as a legend like the Porsche 962 for sure. Now, if they could only get that damn R15 to work out better.
yeah right like the world cup is more important than Le Mans the most famous motor race in the world? im sure Le Mans should be just as important as the most important soccer game in the world.
oh shoot the circuit de la sarthe course. This was used on the 24 hours of le mans mode on GRID and they have the one from 1968 without the two side turns on the long straightaways
The only way in there is to start off in a much smaller series, pro karting is the most popular, and move up through the racing ladder. If you work hard and never give up, you have a good chance at making it. I intend on racing in this in the future and all I can do is just race in what I'm in now and never give up.
does anyone know what school you would go to or what training you would need to become a driver for one of these racing teams for the ALMS or LMP2 series? i would like to become one eventually but i dont know where to start
yeah, Skip Barber definitely - not sure about any others - I'd like to build one of these cars - getting my mechanical engineering degree - so all I need to do is get hired by somebody in racing and they might direct me to the right people - it's wishful thinking but I'd like to build a car for Le Mans and race it there - that's my dream - can't get the feel of Le Mans until I'm at the track and racing on it
I know the exchange rate is shit at the moment, but a GA ticket would cost you 60 euro's, which would mean 85 bucks. You can always get GA's at the gate, camping passes is a different matter, we just ordered the 2008 tickets already. ;)
Great le mans in my opinion = BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, Toyota, Cadillac, all this with LMP1 cars.. it would be very nice. But in fact very hard to see, since Mercedes, BMW and Toyota are more interested in F1...
And Porsche was forced to pull the plug on a LMP1 project in late 1999 because of mysterious reasons, having to do apparently with the Audi R8 (the racecar that annihilated Le Mans) and the Porsche Cayenne(!!!!!!)
This year at lemans peogeut has the upper hand as far as the power at 700hp. Audi has just debuted their 07 r10 tdi. they did not improve the car's power. normally a company would enhance their cars for the next season. they did in other areas but not as far as engine power. but who knows what is bound to happen. that car just matbe the alms version. i was thinking since the 908 has the same engine, wouldn't
it be possible for audi to squeeze more power out of its engine?
I believe I remember reading that, while the peak power had not changed since 2006 for the V12 TDI, the power and torque curves were improved as to make the power more useable. The Peugeot 908 also has more power partly as it is allowed to run a larger intake restrictor since closed-cockpit designs need to use air conditioning.
I really like the Mercedes Benz cars like CLK-LM and CLR (It´s a pitty it crashed in 1999)... Audi is dominating since 2000 and R10 seen uglier than R8.. do not know if it is better or worst than R8.
the audi r10 is better overall. it has a better fuel economy resulting in fewer pit stops and it has better lap times than the r8. Oh yes i would have loved to see mercedes race at le mans now, that would be interesting. i could visualize their car right now, it would have the mercedes slr nose and it connected oval lights, most likely silver. i would not expect them to win.
I love lemans. The audi r10 is one of the best racing cars. Although it certainly isn't the fastest it has been dominating primarily because of its fuel economy and its reliability

Ohh i want to be Porsche race driver at Le Mans or ALMS.Hey guys do you think there will be Porsche Spyder at LE Mans?
porschemaniak 4 years ago
No, Porsche doesn't want to race the RS Spyder at Le Mans and the ACO doesn't want them there either.
Porsche911GT1 4 years ago
Here's the question: why? Does the ACO feel that the RS Spyder is breaking LMP2 regulations? Because that's its class in the ALMS.
vikirad 4 years ago
the ACO intended the LPM2 class for privateers only, not a factory team like Porsche or Acura.

I think it's kinda cool how quiet it is. But if EVERY car was like that, then yeah, it would be kind of lame.
