Our military knows a born leader when it see's one, Ted Kennedy entered army in 1953, after 2 years of service he achieved the high rank of private first class
With whatever personal pitfalls he fell into, look at the record and the causes he fought for.
George Bush was a fascist (look it up), that did nothing for the poor (Katrina), uneducated (No Child Left Behind) , or even the Average American (De-regulation of every major agency, un-warranted spying, etc. etc.) and everything possible to prop up corporate America (to our potential peril)
LOL..right o sir. It is a false choice of pre chosen puppets. Left vs right paradigm. Only Ron Paul stands as an individual with our best interests in mind and that is why both the left and the right propaganda state TV of FOX & MSNBC/NBC/CBS attack him or ignore his wish to revert us back to a nation that embraces individual freedom.

Yeah real brilliant and compassionate. Let's see. He lived off Daddy's money. He cheated at school and got kicked out. He got his first job because his brother was president. A year after reading this prepared speech, he cheated on his wife and dated, ditched and killed an girl. He's a raging alcoholic, who finally turned his life around after the age of 60. Hardly the role model you delusional demeocrats and the liberal media make him out as.
Your ad hominem attacks are irrelevant to anything I said and do not respond to a single statement in Senator Kennedy's speech. I didn't say he was a role model and it doesn't matter what you think of his personal life. The question is what he said in the speech. Perhaps the problem is that you didn't bother to listen it? Perhaps you believe it is easier to repeat the words hate-mongers rather than think about what people say without regard to what "side" they are on? De mortuis nil nisi bonum.
I could say the same - with some mild variations - about our former President, G. W. Bush, as well. No one is calling him a role model but can be looked at as an example of how one can achieve redemption.
His personal life may have held some stumbles as well all are prone to, but his political life and service to this country cannot be denied nor can his personal life detract from.
poor guy, would lose his brother (again) in 2 months

A comparison of the two is ludicrous.

You're right. A comparison is ludicrous. After all, Bush didn't personally kill a young girl he was preparing to sleep with behind his wife's back.
Look, they both sucked. Expand your consciousness a little beyond the shallow "liberal vs. conservative" dichotomy.

This speech should be required viewing for all Americans. Brilliant. Eloquent. Compassionate. Patriotic. Moral. Intelligent.
